  1. Happy New Year to Takako and John. Hope you have a great fly tomorrow. Also Happy New Year to everybody. Thanks John for making this forums and the other one available.
  2. Ugh! We need a holiday from the snow. Hawaii anyone? Nah! They have no power.
  3. Good to see you on this forum, Steve. Merry Christmas, buddy. Would be nice to win a couple subscription, hey Steve. He's just down the road aways from me. We get together not enough. Have been flying together since 1990.
  4. What type of line winders do you use for single line kites? Below is a photo of the ones I make. Very difficult to drill holes exactly in a line. Haven't been able to come up with a jig that drills holes straight. Anyone have a suggestion? Heard brad bit drills may work. Very simple to make. Uses wooden dowels, solid fiberglass rods, hollow fiberglass rod, vinyl tubing and an end cap. If you would like measurements, just ask.
  5. I know that the original thread is quite old. I was looking on IKE earlier and there was a link to Chicago Kite I was looking at thier offering and came across this The New and Improved Hawaiian Team Kite Two Week Delivery [ Chicago kite is happy to bring back The Hawaiian Team Kite is the big stunter that started the sport of team formation flying. These big wings are powerful kites that have been the standard for percision and power and are one of the best looking kites in the sky. Durable and strong. 66/36" case included. Skill level: Intermediate Sail material: Ripstop nylon Spar material:Sky shark Wind range:4-30 ] The price is kinda high. Don't think I'll buy any.

  8. Problem solved, thanks Mike. Excellent pics. Looking foreward to seeing photos of that Avenger stack. I love old school.
  9. Rats. Good snag. Remember, those will not trick, strickly old school window washer type flying. Put some long tails, maybe red, white and blue which will draw a large crowd quickly.
  10. Try putting it together, that may help.
  11. Here is my favorite called the Hawaiian Spinoff. Have two of these. Anyone else have any? If you look closely, the vinyl fittings have been dyed different colors using Rit dye. The standoffs are made using painted styrofoam balls called Corkies which are used for fishing. Have a VHS video of a five stack with 100' tails. Got no idea how to put it on here. Would love to share, very nice day and fantastic flying along with interesting comments. Custom bag I made a long time ago.

  14. How does that stack fly compared to more recent deltas? i have never flown it....probably pulls like a tank....and is loud as illegal straight pipes.... Did they sell?
  15. My first kite was a Tide (laundry detergent) eddy style. Was yellow and white like a bullseye. Very good thread.
