  1. Show me any photos of this kite in different colors.
  2. Saw a photo of one that was gold and purple.
  3. Hello fellow kitefliers. I was wondering if many of you have one of the kites. It's called the Avenger. Wondered what other colors were available?
  4. Hi, Janola. Just took measurements from my Hawaiian Team kite. Top spreader is 23". Cut mine in half and installed an internal ferule. Much easier to pack away in the bag. Lower spreader is 32 1/2". What other parts do you need? The tubing can be bought at most hardware stores. Arrow nocks and inserts can be found at an archery or sporting goods store. The whiskers in mine are made of .261 hollow fiberglass tubing 16" long. Most others are done in solid fiberglass rod. Don't have that measurement. Imagine a 5 stack of these. This kite was used in a two stack. The front kite is a smaller version called Avenger with a six foot wingspan. Haven't seen many of these. Pulled a ton. This Hawaiian was made to fly in high winds. It has a 404 f.g. spine and .370 spars. At one time, I replaced original frame with .298 spine and .278 spars. Would fly in 1 mph wind and did it very well. This is the Avenger kite. It tucks in nicely in front of the Hawaiian.
  5. That's one heck of a big lawn dart.
  6. Good work, John. Thanks.

    Trouble

Having trouble getting on John's other site. Says forbidden. Anybody else having this problem?
  8. How did you make out with the standoff that kept falling out?
  9. A photo of my Hawaiian. The standoffs are made from hollow fiberglass rod size .261. Maybe try adding an end cap to the standoff or use smaller vinyl tubing. Thanks for the info. I'll take a pic of mine later and put it up. Any photo yet?
  10. This kite is usually tied to a lamp standard or a strong chainlink fence. The line is 1800 lb test. Sounds like overkill, but add a bunch of laundry with it and the extra strength is necessary. Wearing gloves is a good idea. The only problem so far is trying to walk it down at the end of the day. Two weeks ago we had a kite festival. The first day went well and the FF stayed up all day. The second day, it folded up several times due to bumpy winds. Also took out at least six small single line kites. By the end of the day, I was exhausted. It's not easy handling a large kite.
  11. Sure did draw a lot of oohs and ahhs.
  12. A photo of my Hawaiian. The standoffs are made from hollow fiberglass rod size .261. Maybe try adding an end cap to the standoff or use smaller vinyl tubing.
  13. Have been using Microsoft Picture It 10 to reduce images. Image is small, not expandable and blurry. :-( Thanks for the info.
  14. Any luck in finding these missing kites?
  15. Hi. Would like to know how to reduce a photo down to 7.45 k. Noticed this site has a 2.93 mb max size. The smallest I have been able to get to is 492kb. Thanks.
  16. This is what happens when too many kites are stacked.
  17. I recall back in the late 1980's or 1990's something like this was done in Disneyland. It was part of a show and believe they used a stack of eddy- type kites. Very impressive video. Everybody go buy a jetski now.
  18. JD, all I see are red x's in the post....No Pictures!! Help!! Ditto here too.
  19. Yes, that is a pig flown by Steve Brown. He's after the guys french fries.
  20. A few photos from the Parksville Kite Festival 2008. Weather was warm, sunny and winds were excellent. Pirate picture is Dick Curran from Washington State.
