  1. I love the Sky Delight kites. I have the Kestrel, Jaws, Neptune and Hummingbird. Missing the Luna Moth. Would love to find one some day, either the regular or the ultra-light version. I also have the Butterfighter and the Alien single line kites. Always looking for one more.
  2. Sorry, the information on that link is out-dated. Go to the Facebook page - "Kites Unlimited and Bird Stuff" for the latest information on the Carolina Kite Fest in Atlantic Beach, NC. https://www.facebook.com/Kites-Unlimited-BirdStuff-etc-82661657778/
  3. It's interesting how the banter picks up when there's a Rev on the line. Personally my bag is full and I'm happy. Go for it, guys!
  4. Love my Tilleys. I have four now, different colors, different styles. Which one I wear depends on the weather and my clothing choice for the day.
  5. Let's not scare the man. Let him start with 12" magic sticks and 13" no-snag handles. Definitely send business to the brick-and-mortar kites stores. They are a dying breed and yet they give the best service.
  6. You're in the right place. Check out Flying Smiles kite shop in Corolla. Elliot can fix just about anything. The shop in in the shopping center opposite the entrance to the Corolla Light and the Whalehead Club. Take a look at the Shook Mesh Revs while you're there. They're pretty special and made by Elliot.
  7. Congratulations, Marcus! You will love it I'm sure.
  8. Good luck, Scott!
  9. Flew a two-stack of Revs for the first time yesterday. Trained my Kites Unlimited Rev with my Kites Unlimited Vented Rev. The wind was about 10-11 mph on the beach and these flew like a dream. It was like having only one kite at the end of the line. Just had some wobble near the ground where the winds got lighter. No tangles, no major mishaps. Great fun. http://kitelife.com/forum/gallery/image/5779-/ http://kitelife.com/forum/gallery/image/5778-/ http://kitelife.com/forum/gallery/image/5777-/ http://kitelife.com/forum/gallery/image/5776-/
  10. I have yet to know a kite flyer who needs an excuse to purchase another kite. They call to us like sirens in the night.
  11. Just to make you suffer, here's another image from that same day. LOL http://kitelife.com/forum/gallery/image/5768-/ P.S. I know a kite shop in NC that sells both.
  12. Today I finally got to fly my Dream On and Little Dreamer as a stack. The winds were around 10 mph on the beach. Flying was smooth and easy. Whoever wins this drawing is getting an awesome kite. Here's a photo of the two. The larger one is the Dream On. The smaller one in the front is the LIttle Dreamer. May the odds be ever in your favor. http://kitelife.com/forum/gallery/image/5767-/
  13. We drove past there this past May. There was quite a bit of construction going on. Looked like paving, curbing and street lights. Not amiable to kites that's for sure.
  14. Has everyone found a place to stay?
  15. My last post on my blog described my latest flying day for my Xelon series of single line kites. I've been trying for quite a few months to get all four flying at once. I really liked the display they made. Here's the link to that post. http://carolinabeachkiter.com/2015/06/23/im-melting-melting/
  16. Here's my new Peter Powell on its maiden flight on the beach at Corolla, NC.
  17. I got my new Peter Powell from Elliot at Flying Smiles Kite Shop in Corolla, NC.
  18. Let's see. All my hyperkite stacks have tails. My vintage Trlby stacks have tails. Both my vintage and my new Peter Powell stunt diamond have tails. I have put tails on my HQ Symphony 1.4 and HQ Symphony 1.8. And I have put tails on my Goblins. The show is just better with tails
