Heaven forbid I root for that Pack. I'm a TARHEEL GIRL. We are a "house divided", however. My husband went to State. The only PACK in my heart is the GREEN BAY PACKERS! Now back to our regular programming. Remember my numbers RNG. I will not turn down a new kite. kjm

Well since you are willing to BACK THE PACK, I will admit a Rev will round out my quad line kite collection nicely. And I do like that color. But must all Rev fliers be part of "The Dark Side" ? "Girls just want to have fun." May the Force be with me! kjm

GO PACK GO!!!! GO PACK GO!!!! GO PACK GO!!!! Oops! Wrong forum. My bantering got carried away. kjm

Any tactic is worth a try. Isn't it? LOL. kjm

I've done the "I don't want this kite" message earlier. We'll see what happens. I have no Revolution and I don't want one. Are you listening RNG? Do not draw my number. Do you hear me? NO, NO, NO!!!!!!! I haven't won a drawing yet. Maybe my luck will hold this time. LOL. kjm

Sorry I haven't been bantering lately. We've been out of town more than we've been in town. And we are leaving town this weekend for a football game. Football is my undying passion and now that it is football season, I spend more time on the football news sites than anywhere else. So if there is a long absence from the forum, blame it on football. It only lasts until the first of February. Not like some sports seasons that last almost all year. However, a new kite could be the temptation that would get me outside at halftime. LOL. Remember my number RNG. And thank you "Nick" for your offer of your number. And I must add GO PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! kjm

Wonderful! Makes me want to get my Trlbys out and fly them again. It's been way too long. kjm

We're probably better off without TV. We don't know how bad it is that way. They do tend to sensationalize. Any one want to get some extra exercise? Picking up limbs (strengthening the thighs and lower back by bending and stooping) and raking (strengthening the upper arms and upper back with the pulling motion). Not to mention the cardio (huffing and puffing at the unaccustomed exercise). Oh, and don't forget the pounds lost through sweat. Who needs a gym when you've got a hurricane. LOL kjm

We're alive and still here! It wasn't too bad because Irene had weakened to a borderline cat 1 - cat 2. But it was so large we thought it was never going to go away. The house we're in took no damage whatsoever. We're raking the yard now and picking up small limbs. Our neighbors lost two trees and both missed the house. Our other house (yes, at the moment we have two houses here) also took no damage but we did end up with a couple of very tall pines leaning over it and our neighbors. Got someone to take them and one other down this morning and put them by the road. We're hoping FEMA will be arranging for storm debris pick-up. We'll probably be spending the next there days to a week picking up limbs there and raking the pine cones and needles. Oh, yes, the power went out at 9:30 Friday night and still hasn't been restored. However, we have a whole house generator so we're getting along fine. Hot shower tonight after all this raking. Still don't have phone to cable. And internet was only recently restored from Saturday morning. Thank goodness I like to read. We've spoken with the folks at Kites Unlimited and they are just fine. There was no damage at the store or their house. They were just waiting for the power to come back on like the rest of us. Unfortunately our weekly Sunday kite fly at Fort Macon was canceled because of the curfew. That was a bummer. LOL. We have been really blessed and fared so much better than most. Thanks for thinking about us. kjm

What happened to my "SPELL CHECKER" ?
photomom replied to Reef Runner's topic in The Web Site (nuts and bolts)
Hey -Pete, I have a slide rule like the white one on the bottom left. Loved the thing although I could never use it well. kjm -
We were driving through Raleigh o our way home and never felt a thing. Found out about it from our daughter in a text message. Now we have to prepare for the hurricane. Reef Runner - I would say you're in a pretty safe place. Come down and stay with us and get the real experience. We're tying down kayaks, putting away patio furniture and checking out the storm shutters tomorrow. What a wonderful thing to come home to. kjm

Reef Runner - Seriously, I do not own a Rev. I only started flying quads five months ago. I have a Vamp Devil by Flying Wings which I absolutely love. I also have a vintage Spirit Quad by New Tech. I've tried the Volksquad and don't like it. Bungies keep breaking while flying, not while crashing. LOL. Jason - I have posted on a old Macbook and a new iMac the past two days and I've no trouble with the smileys. Something else is going on. Haven't checked other features yet. kjm

I like Baloo's definition, too. However, you give a kid a clip around the ear nowadays and you end up in jail for child abuse. Even if it's your own kid, someone will report you to child protective services and you're arrested and the kid is in a foster home. The system is so screwed up. Reef Runner - Thank you for the offer. I will accept on the condition that we get together sometime and you can help me to fly it. After all, we are in the same state. Now back to our regular programming. 461 461 461 kjm

I object to your contention that I was lying. I was brought up to not lie. I may worm my way around the truth but I do not lie. BTW, you need to settle down a little bit. It's a long time until 9/27 and you may burn yourself out with that high-powered heckling. Calm! Calm!! It will be alright. kjm

Not at all interested in a Rev. Swore I never would fly one. Don't want one in my bag. RNG don't bother drawing my number. kjm (Do you think the reverse psychology will work? Whispering didn't help. LOL )

I finally got to try out this kite the other evening. The winds were light and it was getting dark fast. I was totally blown away at how this kite handled. No pull but I didn't feel at all disconnected. Punch turns were sharp and tracking was true. Now my punch turns are very sloppy but the Nebula made me look good. And I even completed a square without panicking on the lower corner. LOL I'm just starting to learn precision figures. I really like this kite. kjm

Do either of you know how the numbering system on the kite can be deciphered? The numbers on mine are 120738. Is there a date in there somewhere? Or a production number? kjm

I recently acquired a Nebula by Ron Phipps. Has anyone flown this kite? What are your impressions of this kite? I love the appearance and I've been told it is a great all-around kite for precision and tricks. I'm not into tricks but I think this may be a great ballet kite. It is signed by Ron and is numbered 120738. Does anyone know how to decipher the number? If the heat ever breaks, I will get out and fly it. Thanks for any information anyone may have. kjm
