  1. Believe it or not, a couple of years ago we were flying on the beach in snow. It was a freak snow on Valentine's Day and was gone by evening. A once in a lifetime event. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  2. I don't do cold or rain either. And to be truthful, the grandkids outweigh kites every time. That's why I've missed the few good days lately. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  3. March is definitely coming in like a lion. A very upsetting lion weather-wise. All of our community kite flies this month have been canceled due to poor weather conditions. And I was out-of-town for the last couple of good days in February. So since Kitemania in Florida, I gues I've haven't flown more than twice. Please, please let April be better. On another note, is anyone here going to the Blue Ridge Kite Festival in Salem, VA next month? It's the next one on our calendar.
  4. Sorry. JAWS is staying home with me. Good luck with your search. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  5. I am definitely more of a collector than a serious quad flyer. In fact, I have eight banner poles to make a ground display of my special quads instead of flying them. After all, you can only fly one at a time or one stack at a time. Here goes - 1 Neos Omega 1 Rev EXP 3 Rev B-Pros - full vent, mid vent, full sail 3 Kites Unlimited Rev - full vent, 2 full sail 1 Shook Mesh 1 "Oh Canada" Rev 1 Randy Tom "Desert Princess" Rev 1 Randy Tom "Eagle" Rev 1 Rainbow Rev 1 "Hakuhata Toru" Rev (honeycomb pattern) 1 "Another Good Day" Rev 1 "Geisha" Rev 1 Rev Reflex 1 Rev II 1 Rev B2 1 3-stack Rev (does it count as one or three?) 2 Freilein quads - full vent, full sail 1 Banana quad (homemade) 1 Flying Wings Vamp Devil quad 3 New Tech Spirit quads OMG! What a list! And there is one more limited edition Rev I'm considering adding to the collection. Hello, my name is Karen and I am a quad-line addict.
  6. I like the looks of this kite. Especially the apparent randomness of the colors. Can't wait to see it in the air.
  7. My heart says "yes" but my wallet says "no". Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  8. We are planning on coming to Salem this year. It's been five years since we were last there. That's way too long. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  9. I can't believe it's been six months since I've done much posting. Things got crazy here and I've got a lot of catching up to do. So the first thing is I have flown my "new-to-me" stack. It is a Rev stack that belonged to Terry Murray. Most of you in the Eastern League and the central East Coast knew Terry and remember him fondly. I feel so privileged to have a little of Terry with me in this stack.
  10. HQ came out with them when they came out with the Delta Hawk. Never saw them again after the initial release. Didn't know the Hawk was still available. Mine is looking pretty bad. Should probably replace it. Found a different one while at the AKA Convention on the Outer Banks. Orange, blue and purple on white sail. Have no idea who made it.
  11. Had one of these in my car window for years. It's a bit faded now but still there. My husband has two Tramontana one in the window in his den. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  12. Happy New Year!!! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  13. Merry, Merry Christmas!!!!!
  14. Happy Birthday, Ralph!! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  15. Happy Thanksgiving to all of my kiting family near and far. Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, I am thankful for your presence here and on the kite field.
  16. The official pilot of the Banana Quad in its first (and maybe last) appearance at the Carolina Kite Festival.
  17. I have a Li'l Dreamer and a Dream On. I love them both. I don't trick them, I train them. Check out the photos in my gallery. Dodd Gross, who designed them, gave a demonstration on the Dream On and it tricked very well. I think it's easy to say the Li'l Dreamer is faster because it's smaller and should trick just as well.
  18. Yes. It's a feeling I never get tired of. Worth all of the angst of building. The reason for the bananas will become clear at the Carolina Kite Festival. I can guarantee there will be pictures. Now, on to practice, practice and more practice.
