  1. I Personally have always trusted my VAPOR for indor flying on 15 to 20 foot lines MAX!~!

I just got the new 4d and I have a 3d by prism. The 3d is great on 15' However Any to linw kits your going to to have to work your Ass off and be sure of your movements. Simple, Exact, things are meant to be.

I not yet tried the Skate but Ive watch the video and it looks Fun.

I Can almost fly a "REV" in the wind. No wind however. is asking wayyyy to much. What do you think there John my Friend ;) do you hear a "Impact" coming here shortly???

  2. UP DATED July 5th

My BIGGEST THINGS ABOUT THE E 3

    The Final Write UP: Below

So "FIRST and FOREMOST," This write up is NOT for the Beginner. What I'm going to suggest should only be done by a qualified modification kite shop or pro pilot.

I am a COMPETITION QUALIFIED PILOT purposely tweaking and getting all the performance out of this E 3 Kite that I possibly can!!!

    Here's my E3 modification:

After reading this Posting and a Few others Before I flew My kite the first time. I had gone through the kite in the shop with a fine tooth comb. Realized a couple minor things I knew I would end up changing right away. I had my Friend fly a bit and sure enough we moved a few things around to SUIT the winds in the Ventura AREA. Kite flew well but was a bit too touchy at first in the high winds.

Moved the Upper bridal connection BELOW the top spreader connection, and the kite settled right in. Lowered the High wind Knot about 1.5 inches to slow the kite down. I had already moved it .5 inches lower in the shop. The KITE flew JUST FINE and was NOT Squirrely at all with the trim set this low and OUT!!!

For the Light wind days we Moved the Light wind knot Up just more than 3/8 of a Inch. We then added one extra hole inboard for the light wind set up for the stand out. Allowing the kite to fly in the 4MPH winds, short 50Lb lines with a bit of work. However this kite is still a bit heavy to have out there.

Hit the ground a few times and could see the weakness here and there in the kite. I have re-enforced the center spreaders on my E 3 the same way most people have on the E 2s. All in all a Great kite out of the Bag and with Little bridal adjustmnents it does better in handling etc.

I will also be making a second standout 1/?" shorter than the main one to add to the kite, same as so many have to the E 2, to see if the kite will trick better as well as roll up or track with less heavy handed turning. To come later in my next posting and fallow up writing.

There are a LOT of write ups Critiquing this kite on the net and not giving it great ratings. IT is a Beginner / Intermediate Kite that is the FIRST real stunt Kite for the Beginner who is usually Heavier Handed. Does not fly with Finger Tips etc. KEEP that in mind. IT is Not a Q Pro, or a Deep Space, it is an E 3!!! Period. It makes Great slow cordinated turns and flys stright and will suit any beginners needs as well as any intermediate out there.

It is a Fabulous Kite that I got to Tweak a bit as another person flew. I cant wait to get my Hands on it after my injury Heals Up a bit and fly it myself. THANK YOU AGAIN SLOW PRO for the time of flying my Kites and helping me out for the Day.

    Part 2 Sept 8th

The center spreaders were re-enforced with Epoxy, Two wraps of Fiberglass Tape, One wrap in each direction for the tapes ply, 3/8th inches longer than the other. Heat Shrink Tape 3/8ths longer than the tape. To strengthen the Center Pin area as well, I added a Second Stand Off. To create a nice channel flow like the Q Pro and helps in the tricking and sail tention.

The Bridle was lengthened as far OUT from the Center "T" as possible by moving the knot to the extreme Bottom of the center Bridal Line. That took the tow point out about 1/4 of a Inch at the Center T.

The "Second" stand-out is now just under 1/8th inch shorter than the Main one. Not Quite 3/16ths though. To make the Second Stand-out, I used .118 solid carbon for the inner new stand off and the original is the one I cut down. So the weaker stand-off will flex a tiny bit in the sail that is tight as can be when it's all said and done.

This brought the kite into a much better sail tension as well as adding to the Tricking factor over all. The Kite easily stays in a Fade now and does not have a tendency to want to Nose out.

The Batten Is turned IN and placed on the Inside of the sail during set-up and flying as some of the Top Pilots I Know have come to do. This reduces one less line catching place along the kites back side. The Batten is also "CURVED" so the Point is Down towards the tip. Just look at it, It will make since easy enough.

I also have had to tighten the sail's tension at the wing tip's. My knots were moved in more than 1/8th of a inch. ALWAYS REMEMBER to tension your Tips before you put your stand-offs in. I also place my outer knot inside my sails leading edge so there is no place to catch a line on a tip.

Bridle movements: I moved the Upper Bridle below the top spreader connector. It is above the heat shrink on the leading edge. It helped when the kite is on its Back a Lot. Much easier as a whole to maintain the fade and back spins. However I have Broken my KEEL with my bridal mod's in flight doing the Comet...

With the Kite disassembled, at the lower spreader connector,The Lower Bridle is Moved UP to between the Lower spreader and the Batten holder. Remove the Lower Spreder APA fitting and Double wrap the leading edge with the Bridal. Just be sure to have the wrap come out the BOTTOM or Top on Both sides. Do this to both leading edges.

Now, your bridle tow point is moved outward approximately 1. to 1.2 inches. Depending on the amount of slack in the inboard movement from the Original factory set up, this movement of the tow point decreases the turn radius. This improves the sharpness of the response time to the lines and your hands.

The 15gram tail weight must be set at 1/2 to 1/4 inch above the Velcro or the tail sags too deep in a Fade to do easy Back spins. As the spin slowed down the tail would SAG too much, loosing the fade and all. I Personally suggest you play with your setting and see where "YOUR E 3 Kite" likes to sit simi-flat or just 1/2" tail down in a Fade position. Remember no more or the Back spin get tougher to do.

I hope this helps all who seek to tweak-out their E 3 kite.If you tweak-out your E 3, please let me hear from you. Have just as much fun as Always, Remember to Fly SAFE and keep those kites a Flippin'!

  3. Hi,

What do you'all remember about your learning curve. I've hit a stone wall and am even having difficulty doing stuff I thought I had in the bag. :confused!:

Were there times you seemed to move backwards for awhile or is the line between learning and old age getting real close for me!?!?

    Keep It Up! :)

    Duane

PS there is always single liners...that's what I like about kiting...I can be dead and with a little help from my wife to tie a string around my toe....I'm Flying Again!!

    Duane

In my experience of teaching students who hit the wall. I have found three common sticcking points in what they seem to have in common. Most of them if you would think of them a bit will make obvious since in your own flying once pointed out to you. SO I am just going to list them out and send you a few pointers to help with each one.

    1) Set up of the kite for the conditions of the day / winds.

    2) Consistency in doing the maneuvers at hand that your trying to accomplish.

    3) Smooth consistent Hands and positioning of the kite in the "WINDOW and POSITION."

So with number one, I have noticed that Most of my students get use to doing their tricks for example in 8~9MPH winds. The Kite will be in a said position in "X" factor of time for you to react. With "X" amount of slack in the lines and hence a successful trick will be performed with TWO steps of your feet forwards. So now when "we" fly in 12~13MPH winds Not a huge difference but still a Notable one for a lot of kites. Our Kite will Now be in Said position "Y" in a Slightly shorter amount of time. With "Z" amount of slack which will get shorter MUCH FASTER, than before so time to react is shorter. Hence Our steps / Tree trunks called feet Must move four steps to keep the "X" factor in Part 1 a reality. So a Proper amount of slack can be in the lines for a successful trick.

Many of us MISS the SMALL things, in flying and we DEEM it a Wall or a Challenge in what we are doing wrong. If "we" step back and think for a moment about the Basics we might see the simplest things are what is wrong and we are just HALF the problem.

Number TWO above, is covered somewhat in part one. Is the kite is the "Right" position when your inputs are being applied. If your answer is Yes to that, ask yourself this, Was the amount of slack in the lines the right amount as well? Each line has a certain and said amount to make things happen more or less. To much "Slack" not enough Pull. Not enough Slack, Not enough ability to clear a wing tip or spin properly.

Number Three Above, Smooth consistent Hands that allow Slack and tension to Flow from within the mind without thought. It becomes a second nature to your eye, and the position of the kite to the nose. YOU have the trick lines and sequences memorized from one to the other and you know the transitions and you can just move through them without thinking. A SMOOTH mind and even choppy Winds across your kite can make you seem as if its not that horrible a day.

Many people of called it the Kite CHI Factor :) and to you it is like nothing else matters.

So step Back for a Minute. Think about your set Up. Think about the Basics, and your wind levels and proper timing. WE should be able to Hit a Trick 9 out of 10 times in most conditions under 18MPH winds if we have done the above right and we are truly in tune with our Kite!

  4. WOW

This List alone could be a SUPER long list :D Although this day and age it seems that the ALL mighty dollar is one of the biggest factors. Fallowed by the Newest members to what we do. Then cost of maintenance over all if one should break something if that said kite is NOT durable enough, ;) OUCH!~!

My first choice would be for Any beginner who wants to start learning to trick anything as a "Instructor," would be the ADDICTION by Premier. All .0157 solid carbon rods, except for the lower spreader. A Great medium handed kite that tricks well with very decent flight characteristics right out of the bag including a Trim system for different wind conditions. ( see my write up on this sight )

(no Addiction info on Premier web site)

Second choice and there are Video clips all over already would be the new E 3 by Prism, or the Maastro by HQ Both are GREAT kites in the Larger range and do a good job in teaching a Much more finessed and processioned tricking. They Both will make your timing much better, as well as Increase your understanding of the wind and SLACK line flying within a WIDE range of ways. Broadening your knowledge in many different ways and teaching you that each trick is going to react differently with different kites.

    http://prismkites.com/k_e3.html

    http://www.invento-h...id=39&Itemid=38

My third kites at the top of the lists are my Prism Elixers (discontinued) and my Quantum Pros or my Gemini by the Benson boys and girls.

    http://prismkites.com/k_qp.html

    http://bensonkites.c...tes/gemini.html

So there you have it. ALthoe I have a GREAT many other that I LOVE flying when the conditions are Ideal. Yet when the winds are not these are the wind kites that get the most use when It is CRANKING and I am still tricking away when most are no longer even flying at 20 Plus MPH

Lets go get em and keep teaching others what WE ALL LOVE and ENJOY ever so Much!~!

  5. HMMmmmmmmmm

Are Boomerrangs and Other Wind toys Covered under our AKA INSURANCE while we're out flying in these instances???

IT sucks that our society has gotten this bad. I do hope you can touch base with ernie and see if things are O K.

Remember tomorrow is yet another day of FUN and PEACE.

    EITHER WAY YOUR DAY SUCKED!!!!!

    Mr ED

  6. Hey Ben,

    I just posted to you in a P M.

Ya what He SAID!!!! The Kites does fly sorta O K as a whole. The Man who built these kite does put on a very good display in his demonstration in his clips with the kite. As for Me flying the kite with Years of experience in Dual. As well as Time in Quads. I just couldn;t get it to do much of anything like he did.

Now the best of the three you have listed in My Opinion is the TC - UR It Float really well and if your not careful the Lawn dart is QUICK!!! in the TC-UR as well. It was the last version. It is the Red and Black W/ a yellow ish S in it I referred to. That was probably the Best one of the series to have. More mods were done to the kite and the airfoil as a whole. It was also a STRONGER air frame. Over the T C Ultra and the Others in My Opinion. The Spin was also better in Quad mode. The Side Slide was also MUCH Improved in MHO in the TC - UR. However It is anly as GOOD as you are in your Control inputs :w00t: The Biggest advantage was the more so floating ish lower T spreader to allow the Kite to move a LOT more freely than the Predicessors IMO once again!!! Which allowed the Kite to "TWIST" more in Quad mode for the center rotation. Althoe it was not like it was 10 flod better than the previous versions. Just keep that in mind. :D

The Sight I referred you too in your P M has them on Close OUT prices right now at HALF PRICE!!! Ping me back if you wish more Input and I will fly it for you this weekend again and see what more I can tell you about it to refresh my mind.

Yet the kite unless you wish to put a LOT of time in will be just a Kite. You need to Understand it is just a Basic delta kite. Set up for two bridal configuration. One a Dual, the other a Quad. Both have there Time and Place to fly in a certain type of Wind and MPH factor as well.

  7. AHhhhh The Knot Issue on this Kite.

I took a SIMPLE piece of Heat shrink Tubing I think it was a 3/8 inch piece or a 1/4. I know this It was the SMALLEST piece I could FORCE!!!! over the three knots. Then I shrunk it down to cover up the Problem area.

Lesson Learned was YOU MUST barely cover the knots and strings that go to the kite. Less than 1/8th of a Inch for the Lines need to spread out etc. Down over the Knots I went just more than 1/4" when it was all shrunk up to cover all the glue etc.

Just be VERY aware of your Temps on the tubing as you shrink it as to NOT Burn your lines. I have the Proper Heat Gun so it was easy. The Opening after a colapse was MUCH easier. Usually one side of the kite would start to fly first and then as Long as I flew that ONE line the rest would fallow!!!

    Hope it Help you out...

    ED

  8. Here is a ""PRIME"" example of where a DECENT shop and experience of a that shop come into play. The Instructors and the "Questions" they come too ask you before the just SELL you something and Take your MONEY!~!

Many people especially in this the Kiting world do "NOT" want to spend the extra 10 to 20 dollars on a Kite at a local shop. When they can buy a kite on~line at a discount. Prime example of this is what I sent you Personally Jon, in a Private message.

A Good / Decent shop in my Years of Experience, is a customer based shop, that will ask a person the fallowing things befor they purchase a kite in general. There are "beginner" kites that are just that. Built to do Circles and figure B's amd maybe a Axel when you get good, at the stall factor and side slides. However that is about it. Then there are the other side of Beginner kites that have much more trickability to them. Most of these kites are ones that Shops who have Instructors like myself who FLIES all the kites when they come in and put them through a "CERTAIN ROUTINE" that is a basic set of tricks. I/E Prism's Video without the Jacobs ladders and combination tricks. To see what the kite can do with ""EASE!~!" That way the shop can then have a Idea as to what to ask a person in the fallowing criteria..........

    1. What is your experience, and what would you like to do with you kite???

    2. Probably have a quick Vidoe show and tell as to what your kites potentail is and would you like to be able to do This???

    3. Are you interested in lessons in learning these things???

    4. A Primary "basic" lesson Comes with the purchase of a stunt kite of say 50.00 dollars or more.

    5. Then they show you the difference in the kinds of kites and the potentials between them.

So the education process is MUCH simpler and easier to be made. There are "Several" beginer kites out there that you can NOT ( Back spin, Yo yo, Fade, Side slide, Axel, with ease etc. ) Yet there are three or four good 80.00 to 110.00 ish dollar kites that come with 40.00 dollar strings right off the top of my head that would of done MOST of what you were trying to DO!~!~! That YOU would of NOT found on LINE all that easy without Talking to a experienced SHOP or persons who have flown those kites. That Basic knowledge is Priceless especially when a Shop person Hands you There kite and says Here give it a try. Then says O K here is what I can do with this kite easily. B)

Lessons Learned are HARD PRESSED to us all many times OVER sometimes. It pays to "ASK OURSELVES" what is that extra 20.00 bucks worth to us in HEAD ACHE time alone??? From the shops who "REALLY HAVE THIER ACTS TOGETHER" over the years??? If we should Break something how easy is it too replace??? At that shop which is 2 hours away, or on our own at our house!~! That is a HUGE thing when your a long ways away from your Kite shop.

So as a Teacher / Instructor at a Shop. I have sceen Many people buy the Cheapest of two lines kites. Fly them for 20 minutes out on the beach while Im flying mine with other students. Just to have them turn around and Buy a Better kite and hand that off to thier kids. Or I have sceen people buy 180.00 dollar kites and they have never Flown a 2 line before in thier lives and exspect to fly it and not destroy it, and it is a real shame to watch the Carnage begin. As I try to sit with them in my lap and begin the lesson and slow them down and smooth out the natural tendencies built into our brains. ;)

    Fast Eddy B)

  9. Hey Jon

For Giggles and Chits Have you ever looked at a Premier ADDICTION??? It is only 60 ~ 80.00 bucks at the MOST!~!

Now there is the shop I work for as the Head flight Instructor / test pilot as well. They have developed a KIT to put into the kite and it makes it fly like you would not believe. We are doing Reversing back spins with that little 7.4 oz kite. It is DURABLE as can be and it will take a lot of abuse and comes with very nice Dynema lines.

I forget what BUZ is charging for the Overhaul of the kite. I think it is 50 bucks for the full kit and that is what you would want to do. It comes with two different trim sets new cross members. Then he retrims the sail and stand outs and tentioning of the sail. IT is quite the project he worked out!~!

About a hour and a Half of work to get the kite to what it is now. I love my fully Modified kite. LOOK up my write up on here and contact Slow Pro about any questions as well. He flies out of that shop as well.

Think about that a 60~80 dollar kite with a mod in it that flies like a full on 150.00 ~ 200.00 dollar kite ish :kid_cussing: HMMMM and it is EASY to FIX

It will easily fly in the 5 Mph range of wind and can do ok in the 15 Mph. Where you are in Oregon as people are talking about.

    Fast EDDY

  10. Hey There

SO you want a FULL review on the Maestro do ya. Well first rather than the garbage words of the few lets say Ive been flying 25yrs and I have been a COMP pilot!~! I'll leave it at that. I have a STUDENT, whos Very first true stunt kite was a Maestro.

Facts are 1) its is a Larger kite. 2) It has Moderate pull with the Batton / stand off sail 3 ) It will do most all OLD school tricks with EASE!~! Even for the beginer. 4 ) It is Very Cheap and easy to repair if you should Break it. ( My student has several times.) 5 ) Its learning curve is fairly simple and yet the Kite TALKs back to you a LOT which is a Great teaching AID. 6 ) It loves to be flown with more Punch and pull turns. 7 ) The lines that come with that kite are a 45.00 line set and are very worth the cost. and are comperable to the laser pro gold lines (IMO). 8 ) The sail is sewn well and is CLEAN in the AIR will NO FLUTTER.

Now how it flies, It comes with a Trim set up on the top spreader junction. It is a O K system however as a Kite buiilder it should be better. The frame is a GOOD frame that can hold up to a fair amount of abouse. As a whole this kist can really fly and teach you more than most kites and yet will come up a bit short in its STOCK configurations in other ways!~! It is a Intermediate kite and it does a GREAT JOB in doing what it was designed to do. With the right set of hands at the end of the strings It will out do kites in its class.

This kite truns well and with a few simple adjustments it can turn so tight the wing tips will actually lope Backwards on the inside wing. GREAT for getting into Tight Higher performing Comets etc. That demand Fast reacting skills.

The kite is a BIT weak in its lower spreaders. It comes with 220's if memory serves me right. IF you break them I would suggest you up that to 240's lower spreaders. The Sail is impecable and is done quite well. The bridal is a doubled up'ed tri angle One on top of the other. The yo yo catchers are in the right spot but come off easiliy. Get a Wire tie on them ASAP!~!~!

The Tail weight is a Great option to use once you get the basics down pat!~! Learn to do your Stalls. Side slides. Ground work. Relaunches. Basic ROUND CIRCLES and perfect figure eights. This kite will Axel and Double axel all day long once you learn the proper Technique. It will yoyo and Ya susan with easy. Cascades will rise or fall depending on YOU!~!~!~! YOU need to be able to GET YOUR DANCE ON While flying this kite. It is BIG and you need to manage the wind over this kite in much over 8 to 10 MPH. However the set up trim system handles up too about 15mph fairly well

Now making this Kite a HOT ass Kite is EASY thing to do. Once my student got thru all the basics and beating hime self up with the learning process. I asked him if he wanted me to make this kite Really fly well.

By moving the lower preader connector down 1/2 inch and that is ALL you need. and then by simply taking that Bridal right there and Wrapping it around the Leading edge TWICE!~!~! ( THIS IS CHEATING ) It is around Once in the stock position. Rather than RE tying all the knots in the bridal! This kite really gets turn responsive and starts to slide and turn all over the place. Yes this does set off the triangles. However it is NOT ENOUGH to make that big of a difference. Now for the TRIM system as a Kite buiilder I would say Rebuild it and make it a 1/2 inch longer! and the Knots only 3/8 of a inch a part rather than the 1/2 they are now. This gives you a MUCH wider and finite control of your stall charicteristics of your kite. HOWEVER LEARN TO FLY YOUR KITE FIRST!~!~! Then CONTACT ME and Ill Help you through this!~!

I am now flying this kite and doing things most people wont do. Examples. a Full 540 or 720 spin 15 to 20 ft off the ground into a DEAD stall and then Side Slide the KITE to the ground. Touching the wing tip with a Balneced moment and then a snap relaunch 180 off the other way. This is a Very Controlled move and is NOT easy to do from that kind of hiegth.

GIVE THIS kite some SERIOUS THOUGHT!~! I will get SLOW PRO on here and see if I can get him to do his own write up about his kite Before and then Afterwards for you!~!

  11. Hey Jon

Im a LONG time old school comp Pilot from the late 90's and I know your Issue well. I still did not see the right answer in just skimming thru all 3 pages here.

When doing the Back spin from a FADE position. YOU need tro have the Kite COCKED off more vertical. The kite is NOT in a "PURE" Fade position. It is more like wing tip to wing tip at 11 and 4 and 8 and 2 on the clock... Each kite is different. Now the easy way to get this to happen when your coming down in the dive start a small turn as you throw your hands and step forwatd. To get the Fade to KICK out too nose away, and then TUG into the ANGLED offset fade!~!

Now when the Kite goes into the belly away nose just above Vertical position. The wing tips need to be 11 and 4 or 8 and 2, Pull the fade back too you ASAP. The Quantum your flying needs to be a BIT past level and nose high by about 5 to 10 degrees. PULL back in a quick smooth motion as in all fades. As the kite come thru to the fade. YOUR HIGH WING be it the left hand or the right is your PULL HAND!~! 11 ~ 4 is your right 8 ~ 2 is your Left. If memory serves me right here sitting at the computer!~! Your Quantum will want to "flatten out quickly here so PULLING the hIGH wing to initiate the spin is of TIMING asap!~! The nose should be FLTA to the AIR FLOW over the kite from your Perspective.

The Back spin here depends on how your FULCRUM/STALL is set up on your kite. IF YOUR FADE will sit without ""BOBBLING"" 15 FT off the ground. Then do your back spin at 15 ft. with the Above info. It will help a lot for this is where there is the Least amount of recovery wanting to happen in your kite.

Give this Info a try and Drop me a line if you neeed a Better explanation. I just blased thru the 3 pages here and did not SEE the problem issue properly addressed in any of the reasons so I hope I addressed it.... I, P Med it too you.

  12. Hi RAE

There is a Great little light weight kite that I have done a write up on, on this sight. It is the premier ADDICTION, and it runs anywhere from about 60.00 to 80.00 dollars, pending on where you get it... I have Two of these kites and one was Modified by Harbor Wind who has Advertising on this sight etc.

I have been FLYING Prism for YEARS and have almost every one of thier Top of the line kites. A LOT of People will swear by the company. However in my 25yrs of flying there have been Nicer and Cheaper, Easier to trick and flip around kites in the "Low End" of the spectrum. This is one of those little kites. It does not come with the previous mentioned video.

However it is a Wonderful Kite to fly and is Durable as all can be!!! From that 5MPH to 20 MPH winds.

    ED

  13. Hey There,

Great Job on getting started with your Addiction. It is a Good beginner Intermediate kite that will get you through almost every trick out there. There are some thoe that will be HARD to do and some that are easy.

I have two of these kites. One is "STOCK" and the other is highly Modified to be Much more Trickable and stall worthy. From lighter winds to Higher winds up to 24mph and still easily flyable.

My Modified one was done by Mr Buzz and even in 24MPH winds it does not Vibrate all over the place. The sail doesn't rattle etc. It is CLEAN and SMOOTH and Little drag through the Air. As you will read from Slow Pro here who got his hands on my kite. It Dead Stalls in center window in 18 ish winds pretty easy with just a simple walk not a run and just starts tricking away'!!! I just LOVE driving that Poor MAN CRAZY flying around him.

FIRST and Foremost this KITE much rather you do ""PUNCH TURNS"" than Pull turns!!! I know how Hard a BAD Habit is to Break but in all hinesty MOST STUNT kites have been built to do PUNCH turns. Yet our Natural intstincts tell us to PULL back against the force that is pulling against us, Right???

If your Tip stabs are so so and slides are only O K. Remember this KITE is only about 6.9oz. to 7.4oz stock Not even close to the advertised 6.4oz as it is advertized to be. It wants to FLY away very easily. YOU NEED to get ""YOUR DANCE ON"" MORE Line in your snap stalls. and get your Feet MOVING. It will help you Emencly in sticking your Landing and slides etc...

This is to help you out with "MY EXPERIENCE" with he kite that is STOCK and in about 7 to 10 MPH winds O K... as well as my modified one in higher winds now as the season has been changing here in So Cal.

The Axel is fairly easy to do. However a Double axle is VERY difficult with this kite, even my modified one seems to want to die off the flat spin if IM not Perfect in the sweet spot. It is just too light and doesn't carry Kenetic energy well as it flat spins arond its axes... However a Basic axel is doable and it is about your timing. Oddly enough I found doing Axels INWARDS towards the center of the wind window the easiest. Just get your feet moving and clear those lines ASAP. Just short of the Edge of the window is easy.. (MOD) As for doing a Spin axel, I finally had the chance to get out in a good 15MPH the other day and it could handle it. I was doing it at about the 130 and 1030 position with ease. as well as Snapping a few Quick axel and spin 360 snap stall landings in this wind.

This kite LOVEs the fade. It will float around very easily and can maintain being upside down without the annoying Bobble once it gets to its happy spot in elevation, VS weight and tension of the stings. It does take a Bit if a Snap to get it to come thru all the way and a quick release of the lines there after. Again here you need to get your Feet moving if the wind is not Perfect.

You can do all the Coin toss stuff you want to do with this kite. First thoe you Must have sensitive fingers to ba able to stand this kite on a wing tip and move it from one tip to another is not easy. The thing to remember is how flexable this air frame is. It will want to bend Back if you get to much of your hands into it. Get your fingers onto your strings and learn the slightest of differences in the tention. (MOD) On super light days when it is about 3 or 4mph and your on short lines. this kite will do a yo yo over the top into a lazy susan Half spin. The hard part is your Close to the ground and if the wind dies it will not fly up high enough to unroll it.

You can also launch this kite in 10MPH wind from the ground Backwards. Stand the kite up Facing away from you. Line over the top of it so as it falls onto its Back it will be in a Fade position. It is a real TRICK to watch and see this kite leave the ground. Just Mind your tension on the lines. It needs to have "slack so it can climb away or it will rotate over and nose in really fast!! So let it climb and keep walking towards it until you "DEEM" that’s good and fly away with your own desired move out of the fade launch. Try it a few times and see just how tricky this one can be.

The Back Spin from the cock eyed fade with this kite is a bit easier in closer to the middle of the window. I found this kite to only really like to do about 2 maybe 3 spins and it is just wanting to not do any more. It could be "MY POSITIONING" in the air. Every kite has its knacks and the such. Again keeping the lines SLACK is a biggy here. Remember this kite is a "LIGHT" kite and will Wrap up easy and Flex to much if your not careful.

Flic Flaks are easy enough, just be aware of your tension and Flexing of the air frame. I found that LIGHT flying and doing so with my Finger straps was a BIG help. The kite tended to want to flex up and loose its energy if I got too heavy handed and not fast enough on my feet. SMOOTH consistent hands and paying close attention to when and where your nose is when you pull/snap back is relevant. As is, when you let it fall back through and the right amount of slack in your lines, so the kite does not go to far past level.

It will Yo yo easily if you get it over once it will go twice. It will unwind into a fade easily. Just be ready for it to Pitch down if the lines are not Slack enough coming out. Just get your feet moving in the wind and allow this kite to MOVE and have PLENTY of slack in the lines. The double yo yo was on my Modified kite.

I have switched to Using lighter lines. If you can find a set of Lazer Pro ULS somewhere. They are smaller and less weight. At 80ft 80Lb it has made a difference that is very Noticeable by not just myself but others who fly with me. Not to say the Dynemas line set is bad that the kite comes with. They are a Great set. I am just saying There are better ones out there.

Doing combination such as the Jacobs ladder and full monte is something that is a bit tuffer. It is doable and easier on my modified kite. Yet it is something that this kite was just not truly designed to do. So is the 540 right at the bottom of the dive near the ground. ALl the new Pieces that Buzz Built and small sail mods and Bridal changes he Made really Cleaned and speed this kite UP and made it do thing differently.

If you get through all these and get them to be comfy in your doing. Let me know. Send me a Private message or just reply back on here... There is more for me to write but I will just stop here for now. Its time to go flying!!!
