  1. is this specifically for me? Are there other members that are in our area? Maybe you know something I don't.
  2. okay, there is so much wrong with that statement I don't even know where to begin.
  3. yup, here it is: http://www.veoh.com/group/stunt-kite-vids# I was a little leary, I didn't want to step on anyone's toes if there was already a group for something like this through here that I didn't know about.

    a group

I started a group on veoh.com for posting stunt kite videos, if anyone's interested just login and toss your videos up there. Thus far it's just Spz0 and I and three vids, all are welcome or you can just go there and look it up and check out the vids.
  5. Great flying especially in high wind. I might also add the filming was phenominal
  6. oh, cmon spaz. You're not an old enough dog to be unable to learn new tricks. although you are a dog switch it up and fly it till you get used to it. I have faith in you.
  7. yeah, they will cross, but that's no big deal at all. just do a quick turn at your leisure when your done (the kite will fly just fine with a few wraps in it. Just make sure you give enough slack to let the kite spin and clear the wing tip. Wing tip snags are the bane of my existence. It took me a bit of practice to be able to tell which way to spin to untangle my line.
  8. Hey thanks! Now...are those diagrams as if you're looking at your kite from the 'flying' position? yup, you got it, from the flying position. once you get that down the first trick i learned was the axle. here's a link to a tutorial on the axle. http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/video/ho...ite-trick-1730/ also, through the help of Spz0 I learned that the easiest way to pull off your first axle (although kite dependent as to whether they like/dislike to axle) is to fly to the edge of the window where your kite starts to stall and practice it there first. good luck!
  9. Welcome jeff, here's a link that helped me out a lot when i was very first getting started, try to get these down and you'll be well on your way. http://www.hiflykites.co.za/free-kite-guid...e-maneuvers.htm
  10. so i stumbled on to this and thought i'd share it with everyone being that it's one of the coolest looking venteds i've seen and had such a unique design, worth a look at least. http://www.petithomme.be/cv3/index.php?pos...e-vu-par-Titi29
  11. No videos? I know yous gots em! share the wealth!

  12. Thanks for all the great info, I appreciate it. I'll try to get these techniques down, although I'm sure Spz0 loves to help me out for all the great excercise he gets. Also on a completely unrelated note. I can finally do an axle, albeit a sloppy one, but an axle just the same. (first actual trick) So, a MILLION thanks to Jon (Spz0) for all his help along the way, I am fortunate indeed to have a good friend to help me learn.
  13. I fly a Prism Nexus and I've gotten pretty good at getting back in the air after a crash (which thankfully are becoming fewer and fewer) The one position I can't get out of is The belly down position. I've been told there's a way, although very diffacult, to avoid taking the walk of shame and righting the kite on to it's back. If anyone could throw me a link as to how this is done or give me an idea of how to go about getting out of this I'd really appreciate it. Thnx!
  14. I have been searching for a while and I keep finding dead ends. There's a place on yahoo where you can apparently make your own widgets but I've never tried to make a widget before. I'll give it a shot (possibly on friday if it's slow at work) and see what i can come up with, but as of yet the best one i've seen is the one i already left a link to. I'm still searching though. I'm actually kinda amazed that there isn't one readily available.
  15. I'll keep looking around, maybe i can find one through different avenues then i've explored so far. I'll let you know if/when I find anything
  16. these are really helpfull vids, thanks a ton, looks like i have some field work to do
  17. I believe if you log on to the weather channel that they have something like what i was talking about (did a little research after posting) http://www.weather.com/services/oap.html?from=hp_tools
  18. hi, I love this site and I'm on it all the time. The only thing that I could think of to improve it at all would be the addition of a wind meter that's linked to your area. Looking up what the weather is doing is pretty much the only thing kite-related that I don't go through this site for. Just a thought. Thanx again for the great site! -shane
  19. Hi all, I'm a new member and pretty new to the kiting community. I had a question for everyone regarding the best steps to take to get better at kiting. I know, practice, practice, practice, and i do as much as i can. I can keep good control going horizontally and vertically and i can land fairly well. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what tricks to start off with (I fly a Prism Nexus my friend and neighbor bought me after the death of my beetle Thanx again Spz0) also if there were any other training excercises i should be doing on a regular basis to hone what I can do already. Thanks in advance to everyone and I''ve already gained a wealth of knowledge just from looking through this forum, So thanks for all the great posts, they really helped.
  20. had to drop by and leave a comment for you, hopefully i can fly with you today, later!
