  1. Yes I do fly with quite a bit of brake but same handle set on a Vented Rev and the Polo, the Polo just sits deeper in the inverted position. I've even swapped out the bridles to compare and it still rings true. In fact, the Polo will fly in lower wind on the same frame than the Rev. These days I just use my Djinn full sail and go straight up to the Polo without any Mids inbetween. Just an interesting observation.
  2. Still in Perth. Rolling north, south, east and west. And the centre of the city too. Carparks, road verges, beaches and board walks.
  3. I have noticed that my VTD Polo is far more "comfortable" when flying inverted. It sits quite stable and nice in a upright hover but put it on its back and it is sooo much more stable than any of my Revs. Purely an observation. Anybody else experience this?
  4. G'day everyone. It has been a while since I've visited the forum. But. With changes I've made I will be semi regular back here. Time, spare time, has been hard to come by of late. Challenges both professional and personal have required my energies putting a lot of things on the backburner. It was when I was having a pretty bad week that I just grabbed my Djinn and went to the park to work out some frustration that I realised how long it has ACTUALLY been since I'd flown. I felt good. I felt free. More of this for me. I hope you all are keeping on and have made it through. Made love. Rob.
  5. Welcome @Aussie Dazza, I was going to ask where you were from but... ha ha. East cost. Bloody nice spots over there!
  6. Yep, a 3 wrap or 3 feathers frame. It's a bit heavy I feel for a full sale. Throw a full race frame in or a 2 wrap leading edge and it feels just more nimble. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app

  8. I've got the Trick or Treat DVD Tim did quite a while ago. It is cool to put on as both watching it intently or as background. The music is pretty good too. Some very good freestyle flying in it. One of the best pure kite DVDs going still. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  9. When down the beach, I mostly fly 30's for keeping within a smaller space. To stake out I just point the handle tops upwind and push the bottoms into the sand. Unless it's a bit breezy, then I'll use a stake. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  10. The beast is back!!!! Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  11. Hell yeah. Umm, do we still taunt the RNG or has it gone to sleep...? Wake RNG!!! Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  12. I found some stainless steel rod that fitted inside some spare APA wing tensioners. Think it was 4mm. Shaved them to 5 grams and tried that in my Temptation Std. A little funky but a lot of fun. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  13. Flew a 4D on 20's once and thought it was alright. Good bit of kit. I found it a little twitchy with any more than a puff of wind. Not uncontrolled but bordering a little unstable. I had the chance to buy one second hand at a great price but never wanted to. I HAVE a Kaiju and much prefer the style. I do prefer 7-10 feet lines but have used up to 30's. It doesn't ever feel unstable like the 4D did to me. It is a real gas to fly and never fails to do what I want it to do. Bought it new from the Kite Forge release and keep it in the "everywhere" bag. 14. That's beach sand. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  15. Wasn't a custom but I would've made this exact design if it hadn't been a choice. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  16. SUL I'm using #50 x 100 feet. UL #90 X 100 feet. These are for my Sevens. I need to get a #150 or #250 set for my Vented. I've kind of adopted 100 feet as the standard length for them. Like 120 is for quads. But. That's if I'm working on figures or tricking. If I'm just flying for expression then #90 x 50 feet. Or 30 feet if I don't have much room. 17. A non rev like quad. Q flaps on a dual line count? Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  18. I think this is very cool. I think magic sticks could also come under the "lot of work for a little..". Good on you for applying a great design feature retrospectively to a common kite. The LE T on my Djinn is one of my favorite innovations. Cleans up the kite framework considerably. Might give this one a crack myself! Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  19. B series is 7 and a half feet. Effective spar length is 30 inches each. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  20. Glue to the centre spar. A 1.5 frame set has 4+1. The verticals are interchangeable with the outer of the leading edge. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app

Closest to kiting I've been in a while... They love a side slide but an axel not so much! Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  22. I've got a small fan impeller type and it is good for a quick read BUT it can quite direction specific. The vane types don't need to be orientated with the wind BUT they cost a little more. Measuring wind speed at 6 feet can be a little deceiving as the upper wind can be a bit more. Use the anemometer to get you in the ball park but always tune to the kite. 24. It's all good. We can just say 977 came up and I promise to take lots of pictures... Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  25. Novelty of the year. I don't know how to tell my Djinn that she is a novelty... Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
