  1. I have flown by Rev2 on 80ft x 50#. It boogies -- boogies good. I will try it on 50# x 120ft lines that I will be making over the winter, but am pretty sure it will still be much faster than a 1.5 on the same lines.
  2. I'm in......................I think senility is getting the best of me. I read the post, but forgot to play. It will look great on my IKE hoodie.
  3. Hi, NWkiteluv. Welcome to the forum. Lots of good people here, ready eager to help and advise anyone who needs it. Anything you may want to know will be found here. I have flown single and dual line kites and am now flying mostly Quad-line. Hope to fly with you someday.
  4. Once you fly the stack you will appreciate the padded handles, yes, you will want those. The loops are ok, so is tying the tails -- you can sew in a new loop, or just tie on -- your choice. Yes, you will need the lower frame member, graphite or not, graphite is stronger (and lighter). The sail on the leading kite is likely to stretch more than the others, so a bit longer to tighten the sail would be good. As far as storage goes, whatever you want to put them in will work for you. The rubbermaid container is fine, as long as it stays dry inside. You can use some dessicant to absorb any moisture, so the sails don't get mildewed. I hope this helps a little bit. I'm sure others will help you with your questions more than I can.
  5. Congratulations, Joanna! Post pics in flight and have fun.
  6. East Coast Kentucky Fried Chicken?
  7. Nick, are you saying that you don't plan your travels around kiting events? Shame on you! Get your agenda together for next year now.
  8. The kite(s) in front block some of the wind, unless the wind is really strong. You can stake the handles and pull them towards the stack to make them lean back a few inches further, where < and > represent the handles and v represents the top leaders. The stake is placed at the bottom of the v. | | < > V
  9. I'm in. I thought I had already entered, until I checked just now -- up to five.
  10. Congratulations, Ward. Post pictures of them flying.
  11. Dam good for fourth time out. Barresi junior in the making! Keep it up, Sebastian, looking good.............................................(Must be the teacher?)
  12. Keep posting info on this. There may be some folks willing to join in and help.
  13. This post is from September 22nd, 2007, so don't get your hopes up too high. Pregnancies generally don't last seven years.
  14. CAUTION!!!!!! GORILLA GLUE EXPANDS AS IT CURES!!! THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF SPLITTING THE TUBE.
  15. The B-Series full sail is a great choice for your first Revo. Enjoy it. I still very often fly my full sail SLE that I got five years ago, even though I now have many others. It brings back the memory of my beginnings in flying quads. Also, welcome to the dark side, we have cookies.
  16. As soon as you get rid of it the wind will drop to 2 mph. Murphy's Law: Chapter 3, verse 22.
  17. I've seen you set up and break down. You can get a bunch of photos before they even know what hit them!
  18. Absolutely -- as in other aspects of life, you get what you pay for. If the cost is not prohibitive, then dive in head first.
  19. Grinnell on Tuesday? Man, you gotta be tired! Good-looking field, though -- how was the wind?
  20. The young blonde gentleman's name is Landon. He's 14 years old and flies as if he started at age 1. He and his parents came down from Grand Rapids, Michigan, as an early birthday present to him. They may pop in at the retreat depending on previous engagements. I'm hoping he makes it. We were doing the Rev battles together with John. Bill was doing some crash and burn in the Rev battles early, but seemed to be losing his touch as the weekend wore on.
  21. I'm in. I want the first one, and what's in it.
  22. Now that winter is approaching, there will usually more used ones being sold. People who just didn't "click" with quad-line kites, and those who are retiring some kites so they can buy more. Get a full sail and then patiently wait for better deals to show up. They do every year. And of course, welcome to the forum. Looking forward to crossing lines with you someday.
  23. So you got your 360 down pat now, right, Bill?
