  1. Happy Birthday JB. I hope it includes many friends and family and lots of flying.
  2. OK. I am having some real computer issues based on my inability to add the screen print. I have it in a Word document. I have the winner, but want to post the RNG with time stamp for support. I have a very limited internet presence and don't really do any photo sharing so I'm just a tech boob sometimes. If JB or Barton could help me maybe. Otherwise I'll try to fix it at lunch time.
  3. I don't have a B2 yet. Got a slot in my bag for it.
  4. I think 6/1 is a whole 'nother day away if I'm not mistaken. Either that or those damn aliens got me again and I missed an entire day this time! Oh jeez. You're exactly right Brucifer. I completely screwed up. Been way too busy lately juggling way too many balls. Well, it'll be bright and early before I go to work. ONE MORE DAY! ONE MORE DAY!
  5. Last chance. I'm pulling this one in the morning. Wake up, coffee, drawing.
  6. Great video and crystal clear footage. My sphincter puckered just watching the flying near running water and boulders.
  7. I took her out again today (to say goodbye) and she's lovely. I can't stress how floaty she is. A completely different feel. I hope I can see someone fly a Gemini in person.
  8. That was 180GO! flying their NYM's from my neck of the woods. Good people. Lots of great kites. Now you know why winning that triple ghost delta prize a while ago was great..
  9. Terrific. You get watchers all of the time. The key is getting them interested enough to talk to you. I always put up an interesting SLK too.
  10. If you use 1" steel plate, you can skip the anchor. Funny you say that. I can get a hold of some 4 gauge steel plate, but it's a b*tch to cut.
  11. I have some spare polycarbonate. I plan on cutting your shape out on a scroll saw and then sanding and buffing the edges.
  12. I've heard many people do this without any problems. I myself haven't yet, but not because of problems.
  13. Glad it got worked out Rob. Nice to have an international contingent in the game. I got this kite for a song a while back and I just feel that it was time to give it to someone who could turn it loose.
  14. But where is the fun in that? You miss out on spending all those thousands and thousands of dollars on different Revs trying to find the right one. Not to say that that sounds really all that bad, actually sounds kinda of fun. You have it all wrong. It's not finding the right one, it's using the right one for right now. Think of them as a golf bag full of clubs. You can golf with just a 5 iron, a pitching wedge and a putter, but the better you get, the more clubs you want to use.
  15. I added a photo. I meant for his to be drawn on June 1st. No sense waiting a whole month.
  16. OK folks. The next Karma giveaway is a Benson Gemini. This is a great dual line kite made by a man known for his quality craftsmanship and innovative designs. This kite is very colorful as far as Benson's go. This kite was bought used to try to work on advanced tricks. It is very floaty. Too floaty for my ham fisted inputs and attempts to start learning some advanced tricks. Nor do I have the right winds for this. This would be excellent for those with some access to beach winds. Kite condition is good with maybe some TLC needed. No rips, tears or patches. No roll bars on this model and one of the standoffs is coming loose from the sail. Easily fixable, but it has never prevented me from flying it. Flown over grass only (by me). Comes with original bag. No lines. This kite deserves a home that can set free the tricks in its DNA. A different Gemini, flown by our own RobB on this forum: http://youtu.be/N0NNm0uLBcI The drawing will be on June 1st. Entry will be made by replying here, starting with "I'm in" and entry number will be by order of entry. RNG will be used for the drawing. 1. Amexpmh 2. Brucifer 3. Tim P 4. Sparkie Rob 5. GammoRay 6. 3wrapframe 7. FredVanCuren Standard Karma Note from the Moderators This is a Karma Drawing. The winner of the drawing is expected to pay it forward by offering their own prize for the next drawing. Please do not enter unless you are willing to offer your own prize, preferably not the prize you just won. Drawings should be open for entry approximately 2 weeks, and the next drawing should be posted as soon as possible to keep the Karma rolling. These drawings are run by and for KiteLife members. The moderating team only ensures that your drawing post contains all of the pertinent information (drawing date/time, adequate prize description, drawing rules) before approval. If you are a KiteLife forum member from the US or Canada, you are eligible to enter. You do not have to be a paid subscriber. Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. Here is the link to the original Rules and Guidelines thread: http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/5426-rules-and-guidelines-please-read/ The mechanism for the drawing itself is entirely at the discretion of the person offering the prize. In the past, entry number has been determined either by order of entry or by the post number in which the member declares entry into the drawing. The drawings have been performed using the RNG method (http://www.random.org/sequences/) or by choosing the numbers out of a hat (I believe an adorable daughter did the picking in that scenario). The only requirement is that the method of selection is clearly spelled out in the drawing post. Entry into the drawings is done by STARTING a post in the drawing thread with the entry phrase chosen by the drawing host (Traditionally "I'm in", but "I LIKE" has been used as well). In order to remove any confusion or misinterpretation, only entries with posts that START with the phrase will be considered. As with all other KiteLife drawings, bantering is encouraged. This is for fun after all.
  17. Congratulations. You are addicted.
  18. BTW, I have to say I am quite jealous if you get steady inland wind daily.
  19. Everyone's taste is different, but I love my mid-vent. Although, if you're getting to 20 mph, you're definitely full-vent territory. You have to think about wind variation all year round if you decide you like quads. You want to be able to fly in the most varied conditions. If you get a std SLE , you can then buy a full-vent. Those wind ranges will overlap and you'll be able to fly in pretty much all winds. Eventually you'll fill in with a mid-vent.
  20. Thank you very much. I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy. Come on, Squishy Come on, little Squishy. I will love it and cherish it. I have a nice prize picked out for the next karma.
  21. Those artwork kites were amazing. Probably too nice to fly, but just once...
  22. You don't want that. It's not your colors. It would clash with everything .
  23. Glad to hear it. Feel free to ask questions. Nice that you added another kite flier.
  24. I know. Light colored tent, so first light gets amplified. I'm usually first or second up and have to make the coffee.
  25. Congratulations Steve. JB, what the hell are you doing up so early?
