  1. Loving it! If you havn't seen it.... as i shared elsewhere in the forum. Here is the first daylight flying session. http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/5652-after-midnite/
  2. I have trouble teaching revs...Just can't seem to find the right words or actions. I would maybe think about a small slk or glider. It can be done in a fairly small and indoor area if need be. How about a trash bag glider...some line.tape.spar material..and a box of bags? As far as line goes.... Just use a good thread. I know it doesnt make the kiter in you happy...but it will serve its purpose
  3. No need to hesitate...there are forums dedicated to soley that.....and really big in some other countries.
  4. Hers 2 more of the adjacent lot I spoke of. The day time pic is looking toward the open from one of the lot corners. The evening shot is looking from the original post pics across the street to the described lot.
  5. This spot is pretty well lit in most of it...with different shades of light... So no real need to light the kite, unless you want to Me and Sean (Oats) flew one night on the beach with some l.e.d. lights, it was so much fun. I now carry them with me daily...just in case also a head mounted light for those dark places for setup and teardown.
  6. Too funny! All I can picture is a group Skype and no one talking....look at the monitors and every one is flying something on camera
  7. Here are a couple shots of my new night time playground I found on the web tonite browsing. I have flown here during the day, but it gets a little crowded. There are many obstacles..trees,light poles...tall and short. Some nice soft grass for the warm barefoot nights. Across the street is a full city block the same width as pictured....with A LOT of the above obstacles. I fly mainly 50' lines here if the wind is smooth.....otherwise its down to 30' and can be challenging, but thats what makes it fun! This being the heart of Jax Beach ...and night time... It can have its moments with patrons from local establishments....... . Jax Beach Sea walk Pavilion
  8. Beautiful pictures by the way...those blues almost blend right into the other blues.
  9. Right now I have some mechanix brand . They have a leather palm and fingers. I don't use them a bunch, but its nice to know they are there on those strong wind days. I actually get worse line burn using gliders than my slk's. My fingers are pretty wore out and have hard spots of skin....by the time I feel it....its usually too late and a new life line has been added to my hand
  10. I don't think I can do both of them..lord knows I need the dual line lessons...but I could possibly hang out a day or three longer after the Rev Clinic if mischief is going on or help is needed with anything.
  11. Very cool indeed! I was debating on a 24 myself. Cheap and readily available at just about any shop. I put my sled order off unfortunately.... But with the adventure in December, I just may have to rethink that:) Any one seen the HP GoPro style setup? Only a buck fifty.....
  12. Careful now! You might start a stampede!
  13. Too funny! A lot do.....alot of snowbirds also..
  14. Ya....I wish my side of Florida looked like that. That white sand really sets the water off.
  15. Ok.. with new kites comes new lines.....like new shoes and socks. I will do my best to take some more detailed and better photos...and make a post for everyone of the methods I have compiled and use.. instead of a Facebook link. With so many variables involved, I don't know how you would compare them with others unless they were all new/unflown..... but i will let you know if i'm standing next to some one chatting...or feet away shouting next month.
  16. Think of it as more forgiving.... If your looking for speed, then maybe the B2 is what the doctor ordered..its a quick little monster. I was flying on 50'. I flew the Rev2 on 90lb 120' and couldn't tell the kite was there...shorter line sets and weights also. I didn't have that with the B2. It was just like a smaller version of the 1.5 as far as "feel" goes for me.
  17. Even sooner now.....can't go fly with Barresi with duct tape on my sail.
  18. Planning on atleast 3 here pretty soon...... But B's. I like the smaller sail..don't get me wrong. The larger sail just "feels" right to me... I think all the sizes and styles have their place. So I just need Atleast 8 more minimum.
  19. I forgot too I run alot of brake. Pretty close to the handle w/2 knots about an inch apart from one another. I actually think it was a stock rev leader with an extra knot...and I do the whole clip removal deal w/ a larks head on the screw(makes it even shorter) Only 2 people have used my setup that actually fly revs...both suggested I had a whole bunch of WHOA going on
  20. I used the same settings on either size sail.. I have tried other ways and this works for me. When I started. I had leaders that touched the bottom of the handle (11" gap) and I flew everything all the way out. I have since moved in about 2". Flew the Rev 1 today with the same setup... I do give and take a little for wind speed though.
  21. I still over control on the smaller sails. Hence the leading edge meeting the ground a few times. The B2 is a real joy. The sail is a little taller than a Rev 2 and I suspect that makes quite a difference. I can not fly the rev2 that way. Mine is old and worn out...havnt tried the new hot yellow one....its brand new. I truly think its just as many have said...time on the lines. I guess I do fly a lot compared to most...in all conditions. But I continually see improvements...so its hard to not fly every chance I get. #1 it keeps me from going ballistic! Life has been so much better since I started flying and bringing real joy to myself.
  22. whatever boobtube uses for jitters is all I used. I noticed that also as the kite goes towards the camera. It's the first time I have used that camera...the wife... I drug mine through the sugar sand and fried the lens motors.. . It appears to be a focus issue...maybe a flaw in the camera. I will watch for more in the future. Thanks all for the compliments......I'm still a rookie.
  23. Well I see 3 bags out of the way.......that makes it easier!
  24. Gonna stay out on this one...no offense. I don'.t fly duals ....yet. I have one that has only seen daylight 3 times in the past year..Better off going to a home that will fly them as they deserve to be. Good luck everyone!
  25. You told no lie sir! Absolute fun! I knew I needed one (vented) from the start.. I feel a larger version in my very near future
