  1. Great teaser! Love the mini interviews and the comments made within them.
  2. Thinks its about the fourth time flying in low wind,no wind..with the loosened spine (Mr. Dowler .Yard cut,Rev been through the paces...and a few cold brews, it was fun..
  3. Thanks for the tip Wayne! I would assume the same principals work on the xl? Although ,being 2 piece spine might effect it in some way. Thanks again for the tip Wayne! I hadn't even realized the spine tension setup yet , as both Wala and xl are new. I loosened the xl up last nite and flew for a good hour.. and made a huge difference. Of course it was outdoors As soon as I can condense some footage, I will put a short video up.
  4. I was eye balling one of these when I bought my Wala, but I already had my mind made up before I went to the shop. Next visit will be a different story . Thanks for the topic and video!
  5. So after 3 days of rain. Mother Nature winked at me as I cut the yard...as I was done and 4 beers deep a little puff of breeze came through and gave me 30 minutes of short line rev time ...then it died.

But hold on...... The Wala Xl came out and flew till dark!

    Life is good!

  6. Mid 70's, no clouds in sight, a slight and steady breeze.

It's a " Slightly Stoopid" kind of day....

  7. I was leaning more towards actually flying on site..contact with structures, main areas, yaddayadda. I got 10 pages deep, some nice pics, but most are background photos. Like Mr. Watson and Barresi in the recent video "Whos your Rev daddy?" I like to get up close and personal. I have had a few Security Guy issues since starting, but used to that...for many different reasons. ...and to admit...I was trespassing :)I tend to whip the kite out where ever and when ever the need arises.
  8. Thanks...i'll give it a go. I stop in and read there every once in awhile.
  9. I guess mine would be the first of them all for me. Prism Snapshot 1.2 foil. It rarely gets flown anymore, but is always in my stack of stuff that rides in the vehicle daily. It was alot of fun to learn the basics on. And of course.... my first B series. It all started to come together with this one and gets flown daily!
  10. On this rainy day..... I was thinking. I don't have anywhere near the skills for this kite yet, but it can still become a proud member of the "clan" until that day comes.
  11. How am I supposed to get a new Rev?... if i keep buying these other kites :)

  12. Maybe ! Being new also, but having Wala and xl. The line tension and use,and movements, is tricky..from my flights so far....sometimes even the friction of the line going across the finger can be too much.
  13. The rain is here...and not going away..

I guess its going to be a kite maintenance kind of day.

Clean my lines...fix my wings...I'm sure if I look hard enough..I can find some other things.

  14. I had one card winder that I finally isolated...had a small edge that would catch and snag all the time. Other than that...love the video. Watched it BEFORE I ever got a kite.. and use the method shown every time.
  15. Soooo.... Before the 15 second video could load of the heavy downpour.....the sun is back...almost. Time for some gliding!

  16. Man ...there is nothing like having an encyclopedia set at your finger tips! Literally... I love this site
  17. I found stationary hovering in different positions for "said" time and squares or diamonds to be useful, as you use the entire window and get the different feels of the areas. With stops or spins or clockwork on the points. Remember that with your body and arms you can get ..give or take...6' of play in power or stopping. This will make evrything more pronounced and more "dynamic". Once I got stable inversion...and handles set to a point neutral was comfortable...it all started to click in my head..now if I could just get it transferred to my hands.. Practice, practice, practice.
  18. ....and I have mailed my letter to Santa! Have to get me one of those nifty little GoPros
  19. Being a rookie.. I can't offer a whole lot other than what I've experienced. I found that you have to focus on being "deliberate" As Barresi stated not long ago....flying with intent. I also fly alone, and love to zip and float around at random... But if you focus on even simple patterns in the sky, the hand positions and muscle memory start to build and it all becomes easier... Hope maybe that helps? and the whole leader set up for sail pressure.
  20. Let the Wala xl loose with the tail in a mild wind today..

  21. Sweeeet! I was smiling the whole way through and for a bit afterwards. With some Rev play too......
  22. Wala xl and a VERY slight puff of breeze= 25/35 ft glides directly away from the flier..... WOW ....what fun! And would go further except for those darn power lines.....

  23. From the album: My Wings

First flight today in a light drizzle and wind in the street outside my house today...will float out quite aways if you let it...quite fun!

    From the album: My Wings

I think this is a blooper and the flying line wrapped a wing tip...bit it looked good.
