  1. Everyone is hypnotized by the B2's! I wonder if that increases my chances? When I was younger I rode a lot dirt bikes. Always said if it had 2 wheels and ran, I would ride it. Feel the same way about kites now. No discrimination involved!
  2. After watching several videos...johns included. I was thinking of adding one to my line up. I'm looking forward to this thread growing. Unfortunately, I do not own and havnt ever flown one... So no voting for me.
  3. Hmmmm.. I go away sick for a few days and you slip a new one in on me. Sure would be a welcome addition to the growing family of kites.
  4. 10001110101.... I'm a big "clutch" fan too! Don't know if this has ever been tried... But with a free suite..I could afford to become a lifetime member!
  5. That's it.... Scream I'm a die hard dualie flier...
  6. Wooohooo! 2 stack comes alive!

  7. Rain and no work... Time to make a 2 stack with the RevII and Exp.

  8. I tend to move around quite a bit... And losing weight from it Although I do sit down when trying to get the basics on new stuff....sort of isolates the movements to the hands. Since we sort of got on subject of beaches, heres my weekend spot from yesterday... State park, but still beach. iPad for idiots is needed... I'll post it later or just use the link to YouTube below. That way those that don't want to see barefoot beach flying don't have too...
  9. Easy to say when you're flying in a T-Shirt. I hate to rub it in...it was 80 degrees...and today, I was barefoot on the beach. It only gets hotter from here on out. 1 xmas it was 90+, Took the top and doors off the jeep and went to the dunes for a picture for xmas cards. North Florida doesnt get too many cold months, if any.
  10. 30? I was talking about 60 with all the clothing Coldest I have done was high 40's and wind was kicking good. That was this winter. Backside was soaked in minutes....but due to the layers I stayed dry. I did say I was from the south, but I have seen 0 and wore the same clothing...
  11. Are you using 13" or 11" handles? Both...sorry for not mentioning. Today was on 13", since that is what I have used lately. As for the wind, always a guess without a meter..my ear hairs don't jiggle with the head phones on, but i think John pretty well hit it on the head.
  12. I have watched several of your videos now and all are Great! Making me wish my kite selection and skills were a little bit more vast.
  13. So I made up some 50# sets..50',80',30'. Went out for my Sunday kicks. I put the 1.5 up first with 80' set in 4/5mph steady....unbelievable! I knew right away that with the Rev 2 it would be the same. Although it was tough to put the 1.5 down...i did, and put the rev 2 up for about 40min. I still have some issues with control with the Rev2 because i don't fly it that much unless the wind is up... but this was the lightest wind I have used it in. Stable flight with good control, could "feel" the kite much better than with 90#.
  14. Check must86 recent post about beach flying when not warm... i sort of answered in that, save some typing Short end of it is, i fly in all weather and cold is the best...no one around.
  15. I AM fortunate to live near a coast and work blocks off the ocean..but one of my most favorite spots is inland at a state park(multiple soccer fields) You can go bare foot and its sooo soft. But i think its what you make of it.... warm or not. Being from the south.... I have long johns, insulated overalls, sock hats, good socks and warm shoes for the cold days. The beach is GREAT at low tide...and NO ONE in sight for hours.. Awesome feeling! I'm starting too get the dual line urge with all these videos i've been watching!
  16. Some 50#x80' LPG on the 1.5 in a steady puff of 4/5mph...

I'm in heaven...feels as if Barresi took over my handles! Sipping much control...

Ohhhh yeah, gettin' hot and bothered now! :)

  17. Thanks all! I'm still a rookie w/ less than a year under my belt..but put the wings up everyday, regardless of the wind. A little rest and relaxation after work. The race rods are well worth it, made a Huge change in the light wind flight. Now to make the other 2 sets of 50# and head out for another Sunday session so i can throw some feedback into the B2/rev2 poll.
  18. At the Treasure Island kite festival I spoke with someone that said "I lost 30lbs when I started Kiting"

Today I stepped on a scale, and I'm down 20lbs. On the threshold of being under 200lbs for the first time in over 25yrs. WOW!

So, instead of gym memberships, I buy more kites! :)

  19. I hate to say it...but a day off from flying for now.

Time to make 50# line sets and hmmmmmm.... Some stack lines. Think its time to link a few kites together, maybe 2/3 of a progressive stack with the Rev II and the 1.5?

  20. Kite lights from earlier photos.

  21. For me, I enjoy watching as much as actually doing.... ok, not actually true..but close. After purchasing my first B series Rev, I handed it off on the first day. I think if the person shows enough skill and responsibility.....have at it! ...............but there is a time limit involved
