  1. I have two different wind meters that I use or used to at least. Usually I look at a weather app like you do but you will learn by looking at different things like flags, tree branches or tall grass. Even be able to judge it pretty well just by the feel of it hitting your body. Depending on terrain and your location it usually picks up a little higher off the ground.
  2. Same color I want to get. Let us know what you think of it once you fly it.
  3. Beautiful stack. Nicely done.
  4. I’ll bring mine next time we meet up and you can try it with the Blast or the 3.5 NTK that I have. Might even make you a deal on it
  5. Can’t wait to see a video of your stack Riff nice job.
  6. Lon how many, if any other quads do you have? The fulcrum is a beautiful kite and is very fun to fly, but it’s kind of in its own realm. The Djinn on the other hand is at the top of its class. All the refinements John has done to it make it the most flier friendly kite on the market today. It will take you and your flying to what ever level your capable of flying. I own an entire set of Djinns and they are pretty much the only quads I fly now. I did purchase one of the first 5 fulcrums from kites and fun things and rarely fly it. I’d definitely say try one before you buy it, it’s way different than a Djinn or any other quad kite on the market today. If your on the Oregon coast I’ll let you try mine out.
  7. On Lake Dillion between Frisco and Brekenridge you can take kite boarding lessons on skies or snowboards. I used to see a dozen or so participants out on the lake when I lived near there, live in Oregon now. Another option of kites for you would be Level One Kites, Paul Debaker is selling them in the US. I’m sure my spelling is wrong but you can find Level one on the internet.
  8. Yes sir that’s the only time I’ve used them.
  9. Welcome to the forum. Thanks for sharing the video, looks like an awesome light wind flying area.
  10. Very nice. Those lights are awesome, only used mine once so far but they work great.
  11. I made a st of 100 foot 50lb lines just for the Pro Dancer. It will side slide easier than any other kite that I own for sure.
  12. I love to fly the PD SUL on 30 ft lines in almost no wind. And yes like Rob said it will fly in 1 mph with little effort. 360’s are easier on the 30 foot lines except I usually fly on the beach and dry sand makes it a little more difficult. I have not flown the Echo but have a 4D, but don’t fly it much. Several times I’ve thought about buying an Echo but have other kites for that wind range, Sky burner Delta Drive UL and a Mamba UL so don’t really have a need for another. I haven’t tried the Kaiju outdoors but enjoy it indoors more than the 4D.
  13. Congratulations and we can’t wait to see what you come up with.
  14. It is always slow in the winter. In years past John has suspended Karma drawings a few months then brought them back. You really do an excellent job on the bags. I really like the one you had in Lincoln City. It is Unique, I recognized your bag before you in the crowd the second day. Good luck.
  15. You might be crazy. Lol. If one line has severely been twisted it would shorten the overall length of the line. I haven’t seen this with kite lines before but in theory it could happen. Almost every kite I’ve bought that came with lines they were not equal. I’ve seen on multiple occasions the lines being 6 inches or more off. I make my own lines now from 900 to 1000 foot spools of line. I recommend staking the lines and getting the twists out of them. Then equalize them by untying the knots and moving the sleeving down on the longer one until they are equal. Good luck.
  16. Great video is that a STD or UL Solus. Had both but ruined my UL at WSKIF this year.

  18. You will have to order one one Kite Forge website. Not sure about shipping. I own a RX spider vent and it’s not comparable to the Djinn. John has put a lot of time in to make sure the kite performs to his expectations. The mesh material has bigger holes to let more air thru than the mid vent or vented Djinns. 19. Another option would be Silver Fox 2.2 UL it’s not as easy to keep up in 3mph wind as other more expensive UL’s but is a great flyer and very durable. Another very similar kite would be the ATM UL. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  20. The Kite Shoppe has several 2.2 silver fox kites in stock. I own two of them and they are great kites for the price. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  21. Opinions very on this topic. On my higher end kites I loosen the tension every time I put them away. On my cheaper kites that I tend to beat up more I usually leave them under tension just save a little time. Fabric under tension will stretch over time. The choice is yours. 22. Every time I watch this video I’m blown away by how much control you have with the Djinn. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
