  1. Getting close.... go out to your favorite restaurants and see a few movies. You won't be able to do that for a while after June. Best wishes to TK and yourself, enjoy the ride !
  2. Love that String Art Rev ! Those are the colors I would choose if buying another Rev.
  3. This is what 250' of flat tails looks like, wound up on a convenient piece of driftwood. You can do the same with a tube tail, or just jam it back into a stuff-sack. The Prism tube tails come with a stuff-sack, and I just put the end in, and then jam the rest on top of it. Once the bridle is in, I pull the drawstring closed, and bam... done !
  4. I think they're going in the wrong direction... the new visual design doesn't appeal to me. And after reading about this awful sounding complex system of springs and whatnot... I would say this kite is definitely not for me ! I like my kites as simple as possible, I just want to fly, not tinker. I get it, Rev wants to sell more stuff. They might sell me one more kite, and extra-vent B series. They can keep their spring loaded science project... what's next ? Flying a Rev with an iPhone, no strings ?

I've thought seriously about doing this... when lightning strikes the sand at the beach, it makes lightning glass out of the sand. I've always wanted a sample of lightning glass, and figure flying a kite on a wire into a storm is the perfect way to get some... of course I plan to wait for the results in the safety of the car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OuEXSi-8Ig
  6. Big inputs are fun ! I really wish there were more 10' kites out on the market, or even bigger, like the Thor's Hammer. I've been looking for a Thor's Hammer for years, every time I find one it either gets snatched up, or the $$$ are ridiculous. I actually passed on an orange one at one point thinking that I would find the blue one that I really wanted... haven't seen a blue one for sale since ! Bottom line, big kites are BIG fun. Everyone should get a chance to fly one.
  7. Ooo... Matches my mid-vent. Like....
  8. That was good, the production quality was great. But... Needs more flying, especially if that was done to promote Lumo Kites. Fun, though.
  9. I find that the inputs on the big kites that i have can get pretty silly, i can't imagine what it would be like on a kite 2x-3x bigger. Sure would like to try, though!
  10. This is just me, but I fly the full sail from 2-10 mph, the mid-vent from 8-15mph, and the full-vent from 12+mph until the wind is too unpleasant to be out on the beach.
  11. The full vent B was my first Rev. I am a dual line flier, but wanted something to fly when the wind was too high for duallies. The full vent is still my favorite Rev, although I have the rest of them, now.
  12. I kinda doubt this kite's abilities to do many free style tricks, but I've never flown a framed 2 line kite that I couldn't axel. I would love to try ! I've always had my eye out for one of these, too. I can't imagine that one of these would be easy to ship overseas, unfortunately...
  13. Can you imagine what an axel looks like with a kite this big? Sent from my LG-K330 using KiteLife mobile app
  14. Nice prize! My son loves to fly his 4d, its perfect for the little ones due to the light pull & robust construction. Sent from my LG-K330 using KiteLife mobile app
  15. Oh... That looks like a blast to fly. Also looks like it would do great in light wind, high aspect ratio and all... Sent from my LG-K330 using KiteLife mobile app
  16. Fingers crossed on this one. I'vebeen really good for the last year or more, not getting any new kites... And I'm starting to feel the itch for some new ripstop! C'mon RNG send this one east! Sent from my LG-K330 using KiteLife mobile app
  17. Everything is sand where I live, the Island is in reality one big sand bar. I guess you just get used to having sand everywhere, in the car, in the house, in the kite bag... Funny that you sank a big truck into the sand & didn't need a tow truck to get it out... I can't imagine hand digging a 26 foot truck out of a sand hole ! I hope that was the worst thing that happened to your move !
  18. Congratulations on your move ! Don't worry one bit about flying on sand. I fly mostly on the beach, and the thing I don't like the most about flying inland is the dirt, the mud, the goose poop... I can deal with less than ideal wind. I would so much prefer to fly on sand, there isn't even a close second for the dirt field. Try it, you'll like it !
  19. That Red Geisha Revolution is really beautiful. Not something that I could fly, but it's very nice to look at. I can't say the same about the 80's colors on the other one, but I do appreciate it's part in history. Congratulations on your new acquisitions !
  20. That may have been the one I saw, maybe I've seen more than one for sale over the years, but remember seeing one used for half price of new... Keep watching those kites-for-sale pages, and be ready to call dibs ! For some, the hunt is more fun than the have !

    Polyester lines?

Just to make the issue worse... Sorry to say, but Atlanta doesn't have the wind for a Nexus, and probably the Jazz for that matter. I remember a forum member, CaptnBob, was complaining about his constant lack of wind. I think the kite he ended up being happiest with was the NikNak. Just a few more $$$, but a much better kite for your location. Sent from my LG-K330 using KiteLife mobile app
  22. Congrats on the win, Eric. Hope the new sticks bring you kind winds! Sent from my LG-K330 using KiteLife mobile app

  24. I'm mainly going by wind range, I don't know the exact weight comparisons. I do have all 3 kites, and I know that the Hypnotist & Quantum need a good 5-7mph to start flying, while the Zephyr needs less... how much less ? That's been a subject of debate for the last 10 years, but I can fly mine easily in 3-5 mph of wind. With work, and without the upper spreader installed, I can fly the Z in lower winds, but tricks are out of the question at that point.
  25. If you're inland, the Zephyr will probably be a good choice. Not as tough as the Hypnotist or Quantum, but still pretty tough for a lighter kite. Sent from my LG-K330 using KiteLife mobile app
