  1. From the album: Gliding Freedom

Flying In the factory/warehouse at work.
  2. From the album: Gliders

xUL kite with the same basic design as the pterodactyl. The spine is only 2/3rds the length of the kite, while the rods that are extended from the wings extend below the spine. That creates an area with some flex, so that when the kite is under tension a valley forms in the skin there helping to guide the kite on a straight track.
  3. Indeed, gliders are becoming more and more popular every day. After you vote, post your favorite glider video(s) below! == Good references: Article on KiteLife - http://www.kitelife.com/industry-news/the-glider-craze/ Glider Geeks - https://www.facebook.com/groups/232378193482957/ Please select your favorites (as many as you like) in the poll above, and DO let me know if another kite needs to be added - any suggestions should be "available" for purchase by others, somewhere, somehow. NOTE: If a kite is added to the poll, you can always click the "delete my vote" button under the poll and reapply your votes, including any new additions - thanks! == My first real outing with a glider, in 2007, on a Borelli (I switch to the glider at 5:05 in the video)... I'd literally started flying one that day, and was suitably moved to fly it in a demo with Nelson Borelli himself looking on.
  4. Hey KiteLifers, Full disclosure, we're the team behind this film, and we'd like to shamelessly promote our project... That being said, I think you might be very interested in it. The main feature of the film is dog dancing, with a healthy dose of indoor kite flying, all put together into a spectacular theatrical performance. http://youtu.be/CxSpuz1lTSQ If you like our trailer we'd love it if you'd check out our website, Facebook or Twitter. Let us know what you think of the project or if you'd like to see more! www.dogdancingmovie.com www.twitter.com/unleashedmovie www.facebook.com/unleashedmovie

  7. I am selling my 2005 Synergy Zero Wind Great Deca Indoor Quad Kite. It has never been flown and is in perfect new condition. It is my understanding that Guildworks is either no longer making these or at the least it is very difficult to get one. When I purchased mine back in 2005, I had to wait over six months for delivery. I am taking offers at this time. Look for my other listings on this site for a Synergy Deca 15 (new condition, test flown twice, and same year), as well as these other kites that are also in new condition. I have a Benson Airbow quad kite, a Revolution Indoor quad kite, a White Bird Firebird single line kite and a White Bird dragon single line kite.
  8. Had a great day of flying today! Well, I didn't actually spend all of the day flying... Eight of us got together for what I hope will become the first of many local Portland indoor workshops. It was a laid back 4-hour skill and fun exchange with Amy and Connor Doran, Brett and Bri Howard, Wayne Dowler, Eric Allen, Spence "Watty" Watson and myself. For the past few years, Bud and Linda Hayes ran a Camas (WA) indoor competition in November, but sadly the event has been canceled. With that especially, and the fact we have quite a few indoor fliers in the Portland area, I wanted to see if we could get a few folks together, perhaps even on a semi-regular basis... We all picked up a lot of information and new skills from one another, even though the space was a bit small (barely enough room for 3-4 intermediate fliers at any one time). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . We had mostly Indoor Revs, with one dual line (Wren) and a few kinds of glider (Zen, Skate, iFlite) kites as well... Eric even pulled out some rollerblades and did some Rev flying while rolling around the room, pretty cool, makes me think of the ice skaters we've seen on YouTube as late. After a lot of practice, play and skills work, we spent the last 30 minutes or so taking turns with a mystery kite ballet routine, just for a bit of mutual entertainment. Fun - this gathering wasn't an event or competition, and the demos were more like solo play time with a music background, especially after sharing the floor all day. Thanks guys, I'd definitely like to put something like this together periodically, and eventually move it into a larger venue where we can really spread our wings.
