So what about the Dean fund? :w00t: Is someone out there working on this. I know your all rich compared to me. ;) I can fly two kites at once and trick (very little in todays standards), I can weind lines, pack kites, hand out buisness cards, tutor on old school stuff, teach a person how to be gental and full of finesse and help people tune thier kites to thier needs.

I did two such workshops in 2006 for the World Kite Museum in Long Beach (WA), with 20+ participants at each...

If there's enough interest shown, I might be interested in putting one together again. ;)

I'm in Southern Oregon and Lincoln City would be good. A clinic would be great. I had John help me with my Rev and his Jump in Crescent City last year for five minutes and this helped a lot. I would love this if I could make it.

Looks like we might have seven people interested thus far... Really, I'd need to do at least 15 total.

Registration would probably be $35 per person, for a whole weekend of training on dual line kites.

Perhaps Cannon Beach for a lesson place?

Check this map out

The section I've highlighted is my frequent flier spot. Theres almost nobody there, due to the river that cuts off that section of the beach, and not a lot of people (ie. tourists) know the other access points. You can either cross the river at low tide, or use 5th street to access that section.

Just a suggestion. :)

<--getting excited for this class

John,

I could get a few more of my group to attend, however, it is all just talk until we nail down a date. It is impossible to plan without a specific date, schedules for the remaining summer months are getting tight, as are hotel rooms, etc.... I am looking at August, for instance. There is SeaFair, Summer Heat at Ocean Shores and the Kite Festival at Long Beach. Does not leave much room for another event for most of us.

That said, if you could provide a weekend date for such an event, I would be able to confirm my attendance. If Ocean Shores is a possible course location, I could guarantee the minimum number of 15 attendees.

I will plan to see you at the Westport Windriders event in a few weeks. Please be sure to bring card sets and dvd's.

Sorry to say, it does not appear that iQuad will be attending Westport... Summer Heat is up in the air as well.

We've put in SO many hours (and expenses) thus far, it's tough to conscience those trips at the moment. :)

Key is, we just got our DVDs in and have them for sale, but won't have enough sales opportunities before Westport to raise funds for travel to that event.
