Hello all,

Well, I want to fly (yes my new wonderful B-series ;-) on the beaches, where people can walk, of course without hurting nor bothering anyone.

So I would shorten my lines... So could you tell me what are the smallest lengths of lines required for the B-series ?

Thank you very much for your help,

Guy

For street flying I have gone down to 5 feet .... but that's very much a specialist type of flying and length. In terms of flying on wind power along I don't think I've gone shorter than 20 feet.

Those are 30'x50#...

In my opinion however, ideal training length is 75-120 feet.

If you have light wind most often, 75' might be better...

If you typically have good wind, I think the 120' gives much more space in the sky for learning and play.

Hi Guy.

I understand that you want to fly on shorter lines so that you will not inconvenience other folks on the Beach.

I feel you are being very responsible in doing this.

If we spend a few moments to put out non kite flying heads on it could be seen by others that we are using a large area of beach in our flying.

I love flying on 50 ft lines. However at times they are too long. And there are times if it is crowded that I will not fly at all.

The best way is to have a number of line sets. I have lines from about 15ft or so up to 120 ft. Of course this costs money in having the lines.

I like the fact that you are thinking of the other users of the Beach.
