Karma - beaded kite pin (11/6/14)

I've got something a little different for this drawing. I am going to make a kite pin out of seed beads. If you've seen the beaded Rev that I posted in the gallery a little while back, it will be something like that, but not a Rev. Instead, it will be a diamond kite with an image based on the KiteLife logo. I wanted to make something that will be a little more special to the KiteLife community, and JB has kindly given me the go-ahead. It will look something like this:

post-5404-0-19916500-1414124655_thumb.pn

I am starting this thread now because it will take me some time to actually make the prize, and I don't want to keep all of you waiting. I will post a picture of the finished pin when it gets done. Jump in now, or later...that's up to you. Enter by starting your post with "I'm in." Numbers will be assigned by the order of entry, and the RNG will determine the winner on 11/6 after I get home and get to the computer. Good luck.

Numbers:

1. RobB

2. bbailey49

3. makatakam

4. Amexpmh

5. Reved

6. mtgrizzly52

Standard Karma Note from the Moderators:

This is a Karma Drawing. The winner of the drawing is expected to pay it forward by offering their own prize for the next drawing. Please do not enter unless you are willing to offer your own prize, preferably not the prize you just won. Drawings should be open for entry approximately 2 weeks, and the next drawing should be posted as soon as possible to keep the Karma rolling.
These drawings are run by and for KiteLife members. The moderating team only ensures that your drawing post contains all of the pertinent information (drawing date/time, adequate prize description, drawing rules) before approval. If you are a KiteLife member from the US or Canada, you are eligible to enter. You do not have to be a paid subscriber.
Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize.

Here is the link to the original Rules and Guidelines thread:
http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/5426-rules-and-guidelines-please-read/

The mechanism for the drawing itself is entirely at the discretion of the person offering the prize. In the past, entry number has been determined either by order of entry or by the post number in which the member declares entry into the drawing. The drawings have been performed using the RNG method (
http://www.random.org/sequences/) or by choosing the numbers out of a hat (I believe an adorable daughter did the picking in that scenario). The only requirement is that the method of selection is clearly spelled out in the drawing post.

Entry into the drawings is done by STARTING a post in the drawing thread with the entry phrase chosen by the drawing host (Traditionally "I'm in", but "I LIKE" has been used as well). In order to remove any confusion or misinterpretation, only entries with posts that START with the phrase will be considered. As with all other KiteLife drawings, bantering is encouraged. This is for fun after all.

Oh WOW! What an excellent and completely unique prize. What will the approximate dimensions of the pin be, Joanna?

It's probably going to end up a little over 2 inches tall by a little under 2 inches wide, plus maybe a tail. I'll include something for scale in the picture when I get it done.

Come on, folks! Get in on this drawing!

And how did I miss your username change, Rob?

That was a special accommodation from John. I was unable to change it myself... The Must86 has lost it's meaning to me since my life is kids & kites now. Thanks, John !

Soooooo.....I'm slow and didn't work on this as much as I should have, so it's not done yet. But, I thought I would post an update and a work in progress picture.

I was on a roll just now until I needed more thread, so hopefully I can get back on a roll after adding a new piece of thread and make some more progress tonight.

Oh yea, I updated the first post with entry numbers, too.

Oops, I forgot to include something for scale. Well, I remembered on the work in progress picture, so you can look a few posts up for that. It is about 2 1/4" tall by 1 3/4" wide. And sorry, no tail. I figured it will be one less dangley thing to get caught on stuff.

Drawing will be late this evening, so there is still time to enter.

You have to be kidding! I never win anything *LOL*

The pin is really cool, and I love the fact it was hand-made just for this drawing. It will be showing proudly on my new kite hat I got this summer!

Hmmmm, now I have figure out not only what I'm putting up, but how you run the drawing.....hmmmm how about one of my Prism dual lines?

Thanks All!

I will have something together for the next drawing by Tuesday of this upcoming week.

Also Mr. BBailey49, I really will need your help putting the next drawing together. I'll so pick up the rules/policy and get it read tomorrow.
