While digging through my kite bags to get out RWB kites, I found this little gem.  I forgot I had it.  I flew this quad before I got my first Rev.

Looks like a 'Spirit'... Is that an original, or a New Tech?

That was my first quad, too, but I had the NTK version.

Designed by Mr Steve LaPorte, who is also a renowned Hollywood make up artist (Terminator, Lost, etc, etc) and really super nice guy - flew in competition and saw him at festivals during the early and mid 90s.

that kite can be improved so much with some mods slapped on,

I used that design for 3 years of competition (our modified version was called a Tirips) and Bob Lauder is making that shape for himself as a "shook mesh-styled" design (if you get down to Outer Banks, NC you need to try his kite out for yourself.  His latest one had six hundred thread changes after Paul Dugard lectured him about construction quality and shared a Gibian built kite for comparisons). Bob's home-builds already flew beautifully and looked stupendous in the air, only missing that close-in inspection quality approval by the builder judges, to be right up there with the greats.

Our choice for the Outer Banks is Ocracoke or Corolla.  We avoid the "madness" of Nags Head/Kitty Hawk if we can.  We do like the Avon/Buxton/Hatteras areas, too.
