Revised list of kites for sale (originally over 2 dozen)

Recommended Posts

Helping my dad sell kites to reduce his collection. Most are new or nearly new.

This is the revised list after several were sold. Most are not priced but will work on any you are interested in. Shipping is extra. The Prism Nexus is $180 (pictured).

If there are typos in my table below,  the photos of the original hand-written list are correct. (see original posting by searching "2 dozen")

(Note: several people have reported they are very happy with what I sold them over the last month since the original post. If there is a problem I will fix it.)

The following kites are possibly being sold: Rev I, both Stylus 1.8s, Nexus train, Eolo, and one of the Quantums.

Edmond, I'm sorry I missed this comment. I was busy over the holidays and just getting back to selling the kites. The train has a waiting list of 2 people.  I'm asking $180 for the train, plus shipping.

The "no-name" kites are pending sale.

Thank you for your interest, Preacher. It is never too late to start. My dad and mom took them up in their 60s and flew them into their 80's. Dad still flies some. These kites are from their collection.

I am going on a vacation trip in a couple days and will be back on February 5. I will update where the list stands when I get back. I've had a busy January. The Rev is still for sale - the person buying it seems to have evaporated.

Hi Deb, are any of the Quantums still available?  If they are could you tell me which colors you still have, how much wear is on them, and what they cost?  I'm very new to this, but looking forward to moving up from our low-end starter kites.

OK I'm back to work on selling the kites. The only kites sold so far in the original list are the two Styluses and the Prism Flashback. Pending sales are the 3 no-name kites; other sales I may have mentioned above have fallen through. I will message those folks who were waiting for pending sales since they are "next in line". Thank you for your patience.

Hi Deb,

I ended up purchasing a Quantum, and have a 4-D on the way.  Shhhh, don't tell my husband that I am now inquiring about your purple and green Prism Stylus;)  I think it could be great fun for our 13 y/o twins without having to worry about breaking anything if they crash.  I've been considering a Prism Synapse for them, so this could make for a great gift for them instead. What kind of condition is it in and does it come with lines? Could you please tell me how much you are asking?  Thanks so much:)

Sorry, Twin Roses, the Styluses are sold. They would be a great choice for the twins, like you said.

The Nexus stack is sold and my dad decided to keep the other one for now.

The 3 "no-name" kites are also sold.

Someone is interested in the 2 Quantums still available. Here are pictures to show the colors in case nothing comes of it.

The Dodd Gross Dynamite seems to have disintegrating fabric so is no longer for sale. I'd send it somewhere for the cost of shipping, but I don't know that it is a good bet for the buyer.

I'll take it. Fix it ,vent it and see if it'll fly in 40 mph like we had yesterday. It would be a great learning project. Let me know the cost of shipping.

@Contactmic: Rev is still for sale. It includes lines/handles, is $70. It turns out the Rev is a 1.5 SLE.

The Dodd Gross Dynamite was sold for the price of shipping due to disintegrating fabric.

The Griffin Kite is pending sale.

Agh, shouldn't have spent time time in chat and Breezin beat me to the reply.

I kept looking at the list but the Rev 1 is so large with few replaceable parts.  On the other hand, a 1.5 is a great deal even with the SLE.

But Breezin, I think contactmic should be getting in first on a potential bidding war since he was the one asking about the update.

I have a skytiger hi100 and I can't seem to get it to go to the top of the wind window.  It's been a number of years since I've flown, so any info would be helpful

Brand new condition, original custom colors, never flown except for the ST which has less than an hour of light use on it... My wife just doesn’t have time to fly, and we’re letting this set go to raise funds.

All three are yours for $999!
Normal retail for the suite of three Djinn is $1155 - pick up / meeting welcome or I can also ship via Priority Mail (usually less than $15 in the US).
Full set only, not willing to break up the set, price is firm.

Join us for two very full days of quad instruction on the beautiful shores of St Annes Beach in Lytham St Annes U.K. on Aug 30-31, 2018 immediately before the St Annes International Kite Festival!
Instructors will be John Barresi (www.johnbarresi.com) and Josh Mitcheson.

      DAY ONE - AUG 30
Quad 101: We'll be covering everything from absolute basics (pure beginner) all the way up through advanced techniques as well as the "weird stuff" like dogstake, short line catch and throw or any other quad line flight styles that may be of interest to the students, this first day is primarily focused on a full range of individual skills.

      DAY TWO - AUG 31
Team Flying: Actually easier than it looks, team flying is proven to help your skills along much quicker while having a ton of fun at the same time in a very forgiving social environment - after having done 100+ clinics, it's very very rare that fliers didn't find a fair measure of success on the line with others - come on, pave the way for participating in a mega fly at your next event.

Ideal choice of equipment for this class is any model of Djinn, Revolution 1.5 (includes EXP, SLE, B-Series, printed specials, etc) or similar "1.5 platform" models (like Phoenix, Freilein, Polo, etc), designs like Fulcrum are also welcome - we'll go through painless equipment set up, good tuning and all aspects of flight - this clinic is not brand-centric, the goal here is to demystify quad flying and set you up to win at your own game.

If you want to be able to try team flying, 40 metre / 120 ft lines (Spectra or Skybond material) are strongly suggested as the international team standard.

Registration is $135 (approx £100) per person and includes full access to the clinic on both days (Thu 10a-4p / Fri 10a-3p)... Please note, there are ONLY 20 SPOTS available and we expect them to fill up very quickly.
      RSVP'd:
@Flintfootfilly (Sarah) @FlyingHigh (Gavin) @Simon Cooper @Steve SLF Caroline S. @Neil Lover @GRAHAM MARSHALL @Ferrit (Peter) @Mickp14 (Mick) @Stephen Sunderland @JWharton Diana M @bluesign2k @Rick Gill @Caller Stephen Alice M ? ? ? ? If you're coming, we start the "Quad 101" portion of this class at 10AM SHARP on Thursday morning... It's jam packed with invaluable information and first time attendees are encouraged to consider attendance mandatory, lots of little details that add dimension to your set up and flight experience.

There will also be an add on indoor clinic on Wednesday Aug 29 from 4:30p to 9:30p, registration is $30 (15 spaces available) and covers 5 HOURS of indoor access and instruction.

If you want some homework, you might also check out the tutorials available on KiteLife at http://learnkites.com/ and Kite Forge at http://kiteforge.com/help, can’t be too prepared!
