Revised list of kites for sale (originally over 2 dozen)

Recommended Posts

True, if I hear from contactmic he was the first to inquire. Which still makes it pending!

Agree 100% Frob if still for sale will take it was included and  people sometimes back out. PM to Deb earlier. She said contactmics inquiry  was for her sale pending. If Contactmic didn't get it would have assumed I was next inline. Don't have a quad yet but I think it's a great deal. Like you when kite re described my eyes lit up. Other places an inquiry is not pending. I'll take it is . Deb has been super cool doing this and she has to do what she is comfortable doing. I could have been 1st and she could have said no I do not want to sell to you and I would have been okay with that too. Bidding war naw I think things could get unfriendly fast. Auctions are fun.                    :ghostrider_h4h:

Nah, my own fault for not asking questions earlier when I asked about two others on the list.  Get that kite, they're fun to fly.

The questions were back in December, and you replied quickly each time.  No problems or complaints there.

They're a great list of kites and I'm sure it is difficult for him to stop flying.  Had I known at the time or thought to ask the question I would have taken action and spent the money. I'm sure many people would have.  But someone else asked so they should reap the benefits of asking their questions.

Other than the 2 quantums spoken for but payment is not materializing, this post seems to have run its course. Perhaps it will make sense to close it soon and start a brand new one with the remaining kites so there is less confusion.

May I suggest posting at GWTW forum also.Upon commitment, when I buy or sell payment is required within the hour unless other arrangements are in discussion or agreed upon. Otherwise back on the block.Seems to have served me well over there and here. 2 transactions here. 5 there. All A+ from my perspective. GWTW is different then here. While you're over there don't be surprised when  Mr. Barresi pops in for a visit :)

Sorry Guest LeeBB, I haven't been on this site for a long time. I have qty 8 left but am working on a quote today to sell them. If anything is left I'll contact you, if that is possible with a Guest. Not sure about that...

Join us for two very full days of quad instruction on the beautiful shores of St Annes Beach in Lytham St Annes U.K. on Aug 30-31, 2018 immediately before the St Annes International Kite Festival!
Instructors will be John Barresi (www.johnbarresi.com) and Josh Mitcheson.

      DAY ONE - AUG 30
Quad 101: We'll be covering everything from absolute basics (pure beginner) all the way up through advanced techniques as well as the "weird stuff" like dogstake, short line catch and throw or any other quad line flight styles that may be of interest to the students, this first day is primarily focused on a full range of individual skills.

      DAY TWO - AUG 31
Team Flying: Actually easier than it looks, team flying is proven to help your skills along much quicker while having a ton of fun at the same time in a very forgiving social environment - after having done 100+ clinics, it's very very rare that fliers didn't find a fair measure of success on the line with others - come on, pave the way for participating in a mega fly at your next event.

Ideal choice of equipment for this class is any model of Djinn, Revolution 1.5 (includes EXP, SLE, B-Series, printed specials, etc) or similar "1.5 platform" models (like Phoenix, Freilein, Polo, etc), designs like Fulcrum are also welcome - we'll go through painless equipment set up, good tuning and all aspects of flight - this clinic is not brand-centric, the goal here is to demystify quad flying and set you up to win at your own game.

If you want to be able to try team flying, 40 metre / 120 ft lines (Spectra or Skybond material) are strongly suggested as the international team standard.

Registration is $135 (approx £100) per person and includes full access to the clinic on both days (Thu 10a-4p / Fri 10a-3p)... Please note, there are ONLY 20 SPOTS available and we expect them to fill up very quickly.

If you're coming, we start the "Quad 101" portion of this class at 10AM SHARP on Thursday morning... It's jam packed with invaluable information and first time attendees are encouraged to consider attendance mandatory, lots of little details that add dimension to your set up and flight experience.

There will also be an add on indoor clinic on Wednesday Aug 29 from 4:30p to 9:30p, registration is $30 (15 spaces available) and covers 5 HOURS of indoor access and instruction.

      Hey all,
Anyone know of a good flight field in the Chincoteague VA area?  (town of not just National Park)  I am headed there with friends the first weekend of June and can't resist coastal winds, which even my non-kiting friends know about me by now.  Any advice on area fields for flight would be great.  I am a little worried that the wild pony situation may = a no kites policy in some areas, but have not managed to find references to kites on any of the area web pages that I have read so far (including NPS ones)   I don't want to be scaring ponies and making people mad.

And, I gotta ask - Anyone fly quad around Chincoteague and want to fly with me for a couple of hours????  Can't ignore my friends for long, but we could amaze them nicely for a little while.

I recently finished my first kite build, and I wanted to throw a public "Thank You!!" out to my kite making mentor:  Elliot Shook, who allowed me to follow in his design footsteps, gave me guidance, techniques and encouragement.  Without Elliot's generous mentorship this kite would likely still be flying only in my imagination.   Holding my kite up to Elliot's work I still have a bit of fine tuning to do, but hey I still need an xtra vent, so I will get better.  Elliot's eye for detail and build quality is definitely masterpiece material.
I finished it just in time to take it to JB's OBX quad clinic and got to show it off to Elliot and all my best flying buddies.  When the wind let up a bit (should have made an xtra vent for that weekend!!) I got to put it up with the sun behind it and it sparkled in the sun beautifully, and seemed to fly just fine.  Nothing like seeing your own work flying and keeping up with the others in the sky.   it flew just like a Shook should fly: smooth and un-phased by the bumps, in higher winds than I should have put it up in, and pretty as a can be.
Also, Thank you to all of the folks who have pulled out kites to let me examine and photograph them, lent me your sails, and answered my questions about sewing and techniques - many of you were generous with your time and knowledge.  The generosity of this community never fails to warm my heart and add lift to my efforts.  To anyone thinking about taking the sewing plunge....I encourage it.  I learned a ton, and kite making materials are not forgiving, so give yourself plenty of practice scraps and time.  Oh the joy of flying a kite I built can not be described adequately.
      Thanks Again Elliot!
