Recommended Posts

@esinger I've been told nevermore for the 350# and 250#. Not sure about the 50# and 100#. Now that being said.. of the 100#.. What do you need?. I have one 1000' spool of 100# I haven't touched yet. Plus i have the 240' quad lineset I haven't chopped yet.

Okay, well I really want a 120' dual line set of 100#. So what about one leg of the 240' quad set you have

I can’t speak for them but my brief interactions with Shanti recently indicate that 50# and 100# are back on the menu but since they don’t sell direct retail, it’ll take a minute for retailers to restock.

If you don't find what you are looking for by April, We'll work it out and make sure you are covered..FWIW, I'd rather pull fresh line off the spool. The 240 set was a bear to get equalized due to the length..

Hmm... I’m in the market for another 120’ 100# quad set. A Wind of Change told me it would be available in January, but I haven’t checked back with them.

OK, before this goes any further. A quad set of 120' takes 486 feet of line. you only get 2 sets out of 1000'. and that leaves enough for an additional short set of dual lines. When Eric said 120' Dual I realized that IF I could swing that it would be about my limit.  I only have the one spool of 1000' that I purchased to make myself a few sets including a short set of 40ft and a 80ft.  I don't have enough to offer especially if 120' linesets are the desired length..  At this point, I'd say, check with Eliot or Kent as to availability of bulk line. I don't have enough to share that much and was considering loaning a set if needed. Sorry but this well doesn't have that much water. @esinger has dibs on a 120' dual set IF I can swing it.

Outside of that, Eliot or Kent are probably your best choices.. Skybond is getting hard to find. If you find 1000' rolls of 350# anywhere, PLEASE let me know.

@John Barresi Thanks for the heads up on 50# and 100# Skybond.   I'm going to call a couple of shops tomorrow and see what the availability is.   @riffclown if I can get hold of some bulk line from a kite shop, I'll be all set.  Thanks!

Just FYI, I'm considering getting a room at Owen's motel in Nags Head for Friday night,  I'd rather do that than drive Saturday morning from Greensboro to the clinic.

$15 an hour?? Can we be them both for a couple hours on Saturday night, and maybe one court mid-week?
Sounds good to me! Maybe the person that has setup the rental can double check with the management company about hours available, fees, etc..

I don't know the Gina who has signed up for the clinic but I'm beginning to feel sorry for her with all the team and indoor testosterone I'm seeing.

Join us for two very full days of quad instruction on the beautiful shores of St Annes Beach in Lytham St Annes U.K. on Aug 30-31, 2018 immediately before the St Annes International Kite Festival!
Instructors will be John Barresi (www.johnbarresi.com) and Josh Mitcheson.

      DAY ONE - AUG 30
Quad 101: We'll be covering everything from absolute basics (pure beginner) all the way up through advanced techniques as well as the "weird stuff" like dogstake, short line catch and throw or any other quad line flight styles that may be of interest to the students, this first day is primarily focused on a full range of individual skills.

      DAY TWO - AUG 31
Team Flying: Actually easier than it looks, team flying is proven to help your skills along much quicker while having a ton of fun at the same time in a very forgiving social environment - after having done 100+ clinics, it's very very rare that fliers didn't find a fair measure of success on the line with others - come on, pave the way for participating in a mega fly at your next event.

Ideal choice of equipment for this class is any model of Djinn, Revolution 1.5 (includes EXP, SLE, B-Series, printed specials, etc) or similar "1.5 platform" models (like Phoenix, Freilein, Polo, etc), designs like Fulcrum are also welcome - we'll go through painless equipment set up, good tuning and all aspects of flight - this clinic is not brand-centric, the goal here is to demystify quad flying and set you up to win at your own game.

If you want to be able to try team flying, 40 metre / 120 ft lines (Spectra or Skybond material) are strongly suggested as the international team standard.

Registration is $135 (approx £100) per person and includes full access to the clinic on both days (Thu 10a-4p / Fri 10a-3p)... Please note, there are ONLY 20 SPOTS available and we expect them to fill up very quickly.

There will also be an add on indoor clinic on Wednesday Aug 29 from 4:30p to 9:30p, registration is $30 (15 spaces available) and covers 5 HOURS of indoor access and instruction.
