About Me

I would like to take this time to introduce myself to the KiteLife community. Just like you, I am also a kite enthusiast and have been for years now. My career in kiting started a very long time ago in the province of Ontario, located in Canada, when I was just 8 years old approximately. My first kite was a very large box kite that my Mom made for me. Due to the fact that she is a seamstress, she had all the equipment and knowledge needed to manufacture a kite of this size and complexity. All my mother needed was the kite pattern and the rest was history. I had many hours of enjoyment at the local parks flying my home made kite thanks to my Mom.

I got away from kites for a few years, but picked up the hobby again when I was in Afghanistan with (ISAF) giving kites away to the local kids. When I got back to Canada I got myself a small HQ kite and had a blast with it. I have since graduated to an EVO ten meter or 32ft power kite made by Eolo Radsail.  When I first moved to the HRM 5 yrs ago, I had just returned from my second tour to Afghanistan and wanted to continue kiting.

I have been out kiting a few times during the past 4 years here in Halifax, but never saw anyone else with kites. To make matters worse, Halifax does not have very many Kite Hobby Shops like the kite shops I have been use to in Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver. Now that I have met Mike from Maritime Hobby, my friend and I have taken the time to create a website called East Coast Kite Club to reach out to local and international kite enthusiast.  Mike at Maritime Hobby supports our organization and in turn we send him new customers looking for kites.

I have since amassed a collection of all types of kites, from single line kites, to power kites, dual line stunt kites and many more. My newest addition to my kite collection will be a special addition Revolution quad kite that I am soon to acquire.  I also fly more often, as I have discovered a great location to fly my kites on a beach that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.

N-E ways, I just wanted to take this time to give a short intro about me and the online group I belong to. Be sure to visit our website and feel free to contact me anytime.
