Welcome to the 70th issue of Kitelife, the latest in over twelve years of online publishing by kitefliers, for kitefliers where we’re still doing our best to offer our brand of balance between industry and pastime.

The 2010 kiting season is kicking into full gear as I write this, and I’m really looking forward to seeing many of you on fields around the country as the year goes on… We’ve already been to Washington, North Carolina, Texas, Nevada and California in just the past couple of months with events coming iup on our schedule for California, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin and others, as well as a number of events in our own part of the country, the great Northwest!

This promises to be a busy year with lots to do on the Internet front with regard to further promoting, connecting and strengthening the connection between our community and the general public… Add to that another full travel schedule, more instructional flight clinics, a bevy of other kite-related projects and married life, well, you get the idea.
This issue came out just a five days late as Takako and I spent the last week of January and first day of February in Texas, practicing with iQuad as well as creating and performing a brand new six-person routine for 2010… Not one email reached me regarding being late, so I thank you all for your patience.
Lastly, I’d be remiss if I didn’t drop my usual reminder that we’re able to maintain the extensive Kitelife archives and continue publishing new issues thanks to our advertisers (be sure to visit them through the links on the right) and especially thanks to the support of our official Kitelife Subscribers… These are folkks who enjoy what we have to offer and believe in what we’re trying to accomplish long-term, so if you haven’t signed up yet, I encourage you to take a look – there are a number of cool benefits.
From both Takako and I, we wish you a winderful 2010 filled with many great festivals and a lot of time in the sky with your friends, we hope you enjoy this latest issue of Kitelife.

Cordially yours,

John Barresi
