The Summer issue of Kiting is in the mail! It will arrive in US mailboxes by June 15 and a week later for our international members. All the great articles and pictures come from members. The next due date is July 15. Your festival can also be featured. Take some great photos and send them in!

We have lots of beautiful AKA apparel and memorabilia through our two online stores:

Registration for the Enid convention will be available on-line around June 15. Please register on-line, NOT via the mail. Help us to accurately and quickly process your request.

Auction donations are always appreciated. If you want to ship directly to Oklahoma, we can supply an address. Let me know!

Convention 2013 will be once again in Seaside OR. Yes, back to the wonderful beaches, good restaurants and shopping, and a great host hotel, the Shilo which is offering the same room rates as 2010. While the location is known, the dates will be different. The party will start on Tuesday October 8 and conclude with the banquet on Sunday night, October 13, 2013. Workshops and challenges will take place in the Shilo.

Where should convention be in 2014? Proposals are now being accepted. Past practice calls for it to be somewhere in Regions 1-4, but we are not limited to that area.

Do you have a favorite field that is large enough to accommodate several competition size fields? What about a host hotel or convention center? The Request for Proposal outlines all the details. Contact me for all the information. Your association needs your help to find a great location.

Monthly financial reports are still forecasting another successful year. If you’d like a copy of the most recent report, drop me a note or check the forum.

Nominations will be needed for directors for regions 8-13, and for president. Please consider running for office.

Whatever your weather, may the next season be filled with kites and kiting activities. As always, I love to hear from you with your comments and suggestions. Or, come talk to me on the field. This weekend, find me at the Wings on Strings festival in Jamestown ND, and the following week in Joplin MO for the Route 66 festival.

Time to fly!
