  1. Yea it's a loop and semi controlled flight into terrain, I am used to flying traction kites, slow and not as quick to respond. So I start up,add too much arm movement an it's spinning, hands out wide like I'm doing semifor and it's ground time. I was getting a lot better as the day progressed. Got lots of Practice to do. Having fun Dan.
  2. I finally got to fly my REV today at Gary Point.Thank you Ianna and Mark for getting me set up and flying. It's going to be a challenge as I mastered the figure 9, and was getting the hang of it.Looked real goofy with the arm flailing, calm down all in the wrist. OK I'm addicted. Dan
  3. Hi, I was wondering if there are any flyers in or around Kelowna, as I am visiting there from the 3 to 9 of July. i am trying to get into REVs. Thanks Dan
  4. Thanks Watty, I will get a copy soon. Thanks Dan
  5. Thanks Theresa, can't wait Dan
  6. I bought it used, came with 2 frames and handles. No lines, but I have a thousand ft of 150# spectra but I think that weight would be over kill. Left over from my traction kites. Along with a thousand feet of 300#. I just bought a standard 1.5 from the kite shoppe, so I can learn to fly on the cheaper one first. Dan
  7. Thanks Spence, I try that, Dan
  8. It is the John Barresi Signature series full vent, also being a complete newb , what size lines do you recommend.Dan

I picked up a Rev at Vanier park on the weekend and it doesn't have the DVD, is there a place where i can download or watch it. Thanks Dan
  10. Hi John, I didn't get to meet you or get in the air, so I did the next best thing and bought a B vented to start with. I had a blast at the meet, it was great meeting a lot of nice people, and i look forward to some of the fun fly's. Dan
  11. two more sleeps, getting excited ! Dan
  12. Thanks every one, going to try a rev. Do they have demo kites at this weekend in Vanier Park? If so maybe I could try and get hooked. Thanks again Dan
  13. Hi Watty, not easier as such, it is that I flew 4 line parafoils and they seem to fly basic to the revs. Not having flown a rev mind you, but it looks similar. Dan
  14. Hi everyone, I use to fly traction kites from about 2002-2005 and quit because I was getting hurt being dragged a lot. Any way I was wondering would i be able to handle quad easier than dual line. Thanks Dan
  15. Thanks guy's, I have flown 4 line traction kites, no problem relaunching. Haven't flown them in a few years, but thinking about it. The 2 liner is the Wind Dancer. Fun to fly, but I want to try the stunt kites. Thanks Dan
  16. Sorry about my 1st post, new at this forum also. My question, is there a way to relaunch a 2line parafoil without doing the walk of shame? Dan
  17. hey! Youre the company I bought the first set of kites from (mightybug and prism triad)....lucky for me the google search popped your company up at the top because after looking around the mightybug costs a lot more elsewhere. I'll try the ziplock because im flying it on a beach just outside my condo (about 100 feet away). I flew the Prism Triad a couple sundays ago because Ive never seen a box kite fly before and I thought it looked neat. It was really gusty so it was a challenge to keep it in the air over the water. I also ended up with a big knotted mess of line that took a couple hours to detangle. I guess maybe some people buy bulk line and cut to length. yeah, the lines used on the mightybug feel high quality.....enough so that I launched it by hand and let 50ft. of it slip through my fingers without hurting me. (i wont recommend that though) and for a 1 meter sail in a good wind it has some surprising pull to it. i'd like to check out a "fighter" kite sometime.....havent seen one though......and if i can find any old school kites like the baby bat or sky spy.
