  1. Those lines, provided they are from a circa 93-94 revII, are actually what Shanti used to call their "spectra compatible" kevlar (in your case, 50lb). If they feel almost as smooth as spectra or not nearly as rough as your other Kevvlar lines ( should you have any) then you can be pretty sure that's what you have. I always had very good luck with the Shanti "speedline (spectra) compatible" kevlar. Of course, when in doubt, don''t use Kevlar. The reason for Kevlar always was its resistance to stretch. And when you've got 4 lines, it's alot harder to deal with line stretch than when you have 2. Nowadays (basically since 94/95) Top quality speed line has become quite a bit more stretch resistant than it used to be, so Kevlar's advantages are minimal. It also doesn't degrade in sand and sun the way Kevlar does.
