  1. I never got this kite. It was snapped up pretty quickly on EBAY. Being a poor man, I gotta go super used and super cheap. I did get to try out a 1.5 sle but the wind was too light to keep it from nosing over. It probably wasn't set up right anyway. I have flown a few quads now including a nice RWB 1.5 SLE and a F2K and they both flew nicely. I will get a nice b series vented one of these days for beach fun. Ray
  2. Oh my...I wanna kite jump! Ray
  3. Congratulations Dale! Lucky skydog! Ray
  4. A kite and a t shirt! I am ready to hear that sweet notification!
  5. I own the Skydog Thunderstruck. I would love to have a bigger and more capable stunter from them! I guess tomorrow is my lucky day then! Ray
  6. Congratulations Stuart! Ray
  7. That looks like a nice big stunter and the purple is nice! Need to make room in the kitecar for this one! Ray
  8. Congratulations Wayne!
  9. Congratulations Sammi!
  10. Yet another reason for me to get an actual kite bag.... There are so many coming in this month!
  11. Perhaps your whining mojo is not strong. You might need lessons....yeah, thats the ticket.... Ray
  12. Wishes he was flying a kite on the beach right now.

  13. I had the genius penchant for green first. I need a reason to obtain a kite bag too! This would give me that reason!
  14. If you do that for me, I can promise you three things. It will be flown three days a week minimum, if I cannot get the hang of. It I will bestow to whom ever you wish, and I will tell you if this is the case. How's that? Of course since I am going to win this should not be a problem! I will still keep those promises! Ray
  15. I will have to arrange a trip down to South Padre next January. I look forward to it. The videos were somewhat informative. I may go ask them for another shot at it. Even with your movements being descreibed, some sort of POV graphic showing the handle movements in real slo mo might help. Do you have any recovery tips when the Rev starts falling forward and planing? Ray
  16. Hmm, I was always partial to Lime and Black and the better half cannot complain about a Rev that came free! Come on June 15! I think all you guys that already have Revs need to pull your names out of the hat on this one, for we poor souls with wives that do not fly kites! Ray
  17. Well, you make it look incredibly easy, some of your movements are more like some form of Kite martial arts than kite flying. The winds were incredibly light when I tried it out and that may have made it a little more challenging as well. It is quite a bit to pay attention to when you do not have anyone that can correct your mistakes nearby and when the kite is doing things that you do not even understand the reason for! When are you guys doing another public demo in Texas? LOL Ray
  18. I got to try a Rev 1.5 SLE at Kites Unlimited (409)744-4121 in Galveston TX monday afternoon. It was the first I have seen in person and the first time I have seen one attempted to be flown! The wind was too low to fly at first but as the afternoon progressed it started picking up a little. KU had one Rev in the store and they offered to let me try it out in the light winds which had picked up enough to allow the kite to fly a little. Gunther their employee, took it up first. He told me he could not fly the Rev and had never been able to learn. The wind might have been 5 or 6 mph and I watched the kite fall off left or right a few times and then he offered the handles to me. I was able to get it up in the air and fly it back down to a lower level in reverse and exact one right turn propeller spin and one reverse spin to straighten out the lines before the kite inexplicably fell forward on one side and kind of airplaned down to the ground. Further attempts took more time to reset the kite than flying time achieved and it seemed to just start rolling right or left without apparent input and recovery was not intuitive for me, so I gave the handles back to him and he took it up one more time and did a couple of quick propeller spins before the kite fell off the wind again. Neither of us will win any awards for Rev flying anytime soon but like he said, "If you have time to devote to learning to fly it, I can see where this would be a real cool kite." They offered it to me, ready to fly for $190.00 to make the sale but I realized that I was not quite ready for that kind of flying just yet. It seemed a good deal so I thought I would pass it on if anyone likes. He told me that they would give that deal + shipping costs if anyone wanted it. I think its Teal, White, and Black (can't remember really)and seems to fly fine when you have the handles in the right position! LOL Maybe when I have some actual two line trick experience or some Rev training from someone who knows what they are doing I will look into the quad line again. Ray
  19. Rest assured if I end up acquiring this Rev, I will be bugging the heck out of you guys to get it flying!
  20. It is cheap enough and I wanted to know if I might need to replace a few frame parts. The sail looks aok. If I had to replace the leading edge rods and ferrules how much would that run me? Thanks for the info guys. Ray

    line length Question

I am going to try the lines out today! Heading out to galveston west beach now. Weather is a little iffy but I have another new kite (skydog thunderstruck) that I want to try out as well as a nice work out with the thunderfoil. Thanks for the help guys. Now if only I can win the Cherry Bomb Stack today! LOL Ray
  22. I found a picture of a used Rev and was wondering if anyone could tell me the model of this particular kite. Ray

    line length Question

Thanks Baloo, I have to be led around by the nose at first but I catch on quick. I did that right after taking that picture. I left 1/4" hanging out and applied a small amount of flame. I am looking forward to this weekend! Ray

    line length Question

Thanks for the fast reply. I just so happen to have some old guitar strings that might work as well. Looks simple enough! Ray I took an old D string from my electric guitar and doubled it and crimped the end. Using the instructions you provided, I was able to get this done! The picture shows the result and the homemade sleeving tool. The longest and hardest part was getting the knots in the sleeve loose enough to undo. Thanks again for your help! Ray
