ACrop, Thanks for the fun fly, good wind, sun and plenty of beach made for a great day. We hope it worked out that your family got to see some whales, and fireworks. It was nice meeting you and we hope you had safe travels back home. Terry & Sandy

Good deal, most of us will arrive around noon, as most of us have about a 2 1/2 hour drive. Parking is not an issue at all. depending on the tide the beach is a little tight for awhile. CYA Sat!

I am in Oregon now until Tuesday in the Rockaway beach area...anyone else out here on the coast flying quads? I am having plenty of fun solo, but if anyone wants to fly I would enjoy making new friends.

My name is Terry and my wife Sandy and 2-4 of or quad friends will be at Manhattan beach on Sat about noon-until... The beach is just North of town, turn left at the sign, over the tracks and an immediate left into the parking area. There is a trail through the dunes right beside rest rooms on the North end of the parking lot. ..More then welcome to join in. you can FB message me direct if you want,, Terry Rowley
All fly quads with a few different skill levels....and everyone is super nice.

Little about me... I am a software developer. Picked up my first stunt kite (Prism Adrenaline) and have added to the collection every few years. I admire the guys that have great kite skills, but for myself, I pretty much just dabble. I just recently picked up my first Quad (Revolution EXP).
My Kites: Prism Adrenaline, HQ Obsession, Ground Zero Jester and a Revolution EXP.
Mostly fly at Cannon Beach OR.... and if you catch me flying...like my username, my kite might be doing the same! LOL!
Thad
Thad,
Lots of friendly flyers within a couple of hours of Cannon Beach...give out a shout when in the neighborhood and you might find yourself flying partner or two..or three for a few hours.

Some folks have been sewing reinforcement tabs on the leading edge. Anyone want to share any specs, tips, pics?
(how wide are the tabs-how many-placement etc.)
Thanks

Thanks for the pic, I was thinking the break was right at the outer green to black spots. But! A double break on the same tube at the same time? Is this a staged picture? Cut it out!
The breaks are real, gathered the pieces for photo. It was a vertical.

How many Revs will fit in my kite bag? Well, I know it's two more than what fit in it yesterday. Miss Terry and I both got full sail NYMs today. So that makes four Revs for me and three for her.

Neither. I have a standard SLE and a SuperSonic I won here and have never had in the air, and my wife has an EXP. We're newbies and very inexperienced.
I will bring Sandy's bag also. If we get some wind you can use one of her kites.

do you have a full vent and xtra vent, I have spares if you need them

Good question, it is a state park about a mile or so south of the big bridge. Just get go south over the bridge, go about a mile and the entrance is on your right.(coast side) Just follow the main road to the last parking lot It is a big lot. maybe 100 slots. It is south beach state park. You will see the bathrooms and from the bathrooms there are a couple of trails over the dune.., does not matter which trail.
-
From the South Beach Parking lot there is a path over the dune right beside the restrooms. I usually end up a few hundred yards North of that, sometimes South ..but depends where beach goers are not. I am sure if one of us gets in the air it will be easy to find each other. I have never seen another rev on that beach. (if there is we got a line!)
Normally Sandy flies with me, but I will be solo tomorrow. I would guess I will be there from noonish until late afternoon or early evening ..depending on the wind and the old body energy level. I have to leave enough juice in the tank to make the 90 min drive home.
If you can't make it don't worry about it, I will be going regardless.
Cya tomorrow!
