  1. Well folks just got two new linesets from Teresa at TKS, 50lbs & 90lbs @ 120' took them to a local school and attached them to a wire fence, not only was the sleeving nice and small and tight but the line length were almost dead even. The workmanship on the these lines was outstanding. When I need more linesets I'm going with Teresa at TKS. Ron
  2. Great Good to known, walking out the twist I'll remember to do that from time to time. Thanks Mark Ron
  3. Cool This simplifies it a lot, just the basics. I was playing around with the side hover yesterday afternoon. I was able after a time to hold it facing left but had difficulties when facing right, more hand coordination needed. I did a few rotations (spin) and it got away from me with 3 or 4 turn I think, I noticed a rubbing sensation of the lines during this I was able to reversed it and clear up the lines. What is your recommendation on rotations, what is the most you should do at one time before reversing direction and straightening out the lines. Ron
  4. Morning fellow pilots I've been flying my Rev just over two weeks now just trying to get the feel for it. I have the launch and landing down real good and the figure 8 is getting better. Due to a planned knee joint replacement surgery I'll have to put flying on hold, during recovery I want to create a list of maneuvers to learn. So my question, are there any list of maneuvers to learn and should they be done in a particular order. I found one list on the Revolution website titled (techniques) that has a total of 19. And I've been watching John's videos, plan on watching them repeatedly there is so much good info in them. My goal with this list is to cross off each maneuver as I become efficient at it before moving onto the next one. On a side note: I did find a kite club locally on Whidbey Island Wa (2 hour drive) that I will hook up with. As alway a big thanks for the feed back and information. Ron

  7. I just wanted to thank everyone for their input on this mater. My current line set from WOC has large loose sleeving making undoing the Larks Head knot a pain, plus I'm still waiting on my second set of line 90# x 75ft that they didn't have in stock over a week now. When I'm in need of another line-set I'm definitely going to give Theresa at TKS a try. With better line quality and service I'll pay the extra cost. Ron
  8. What is the going price for Laser Pro Gold 90# x 75
  9. Had another great flying only crashed a few times. That darn dual flying keeps kicking in from time to time. I am getting better on the landings also no bouncing just a soft touch down. Started figuring out how to turn by using break. When the kite was going down to the right I gave a little left brake which turn the kite to the left. Ron
  10. Mark That's why I was confused everything appears to be 90 pound test at 75 feet Ron
  11. I see on line that The Kite Shoppe sales Laser Pro Gold 90# x 75 for 95.00 and A change of wind sales Laser Pro for 52.00. What am I missing, is Laser Pro a lower quality version of Laser Pro Gold if so is the quality that much better to cost more?
  12. Can anyone tell me some of the best online stores to purchase line sets. I've used (A wind of change) for my first kite and linesets. I'm currently using laser pro and known the other choice is Shanti. Somewhere down the road I may make up my own set, is it really that much chaper then buying premade? Sitting here waiting for the wind to pick up. As always I appreciate all the information you folks give. Ron
  13. Will I made it out for my first time, the wind was blowing 3 - 6 mph I had a race frame in and using 50# line. You guys didn't tell me I would be trying to tame a wild mustang, it took a bite and a few crashes before I realize this is not a dualie you have to control it was small inputs, like John said small inputs small mistakes. One of the first lessons I learned from the videos was to turn the kite over when it crashed top down by rolling it over. I'm definitely addicted hooked line and sinker the only reason I stopped and had to leave was wife was complaining she was getting hungry it was way past dinner time. I will be back out here tomorrow for sure, THIS IS SO COOL!!!!. Now for some dinner and to watch some more of John's videostrim.9AC262DE-EFDA-4113-987A-E8ACA8D4025E.MOV
  14. I may get a kite bag I have a few dual kites, this way I can keep everything together and safe.
  15. I practiced putting it together and taking it apart a number of time. I see the end spars and the two vertical spars are all the same. What's the the best way to store the other frame and have it available when going out flying, what do you guys use?
  16. It's here! and it looks sweet, now should I call in sick tomorrow
  17. I'm hoping the winds picks up some this weekend it's been 2 - 6 mph the last couple days. Question I have on set up for my first time out, I ordered my kite with black race frame and 3 wrap frame along with 50# @ 75ft and 90# @ 75ft. Because the winds have been light lately I'm thinking I should go with the race frame and 50# line to start off with? Or should I stay with the 3 wrap & 90# until I become more proficient before using the lighter line and frame at a later time?
  18. I like the one video that John has that talks about the finger positions where the index finger drives the middle finger hovers and then the ring finger hits the brakes so if it looks like I'm going to crash I'll pull back on the the ring finger and step into the kite to lessen the impact
  19. Hey thanks for the info, been watching John's videos he makes it look so easy with very simple steps. Now I'm really stoked I just figured out how to download John's tutorial videos onto my IPad and play them back at a later time. I'll take my IPad with me when I go flying this weekend (keeping it out of the sand and water) if I have any problems I can go back and replay some of his videos to see where I'm making my mistakes. I'll also have my wife video me with the IPad so I can watch myself later and determine if I'm picking up any bad habits like smiling from ear to ear when I get it in the air. My kite should be here Thursday evening if I wasn't so busy at work I'd almost be tempted to call in sick on Friday and go flying.
  20. I've been reading both forums got some great info, that's how I ended up choosing the Rev B series also got a kind e-mail from John on what to order with my kite as far upgrades go, I also been watching John' s videos not all of them yet but working.
  21. Just ordered my first quad kite and it's a Rev B serie standard. I've been flying duals off and on for ten years and came across this website a while back and was amazed by the agility these type of kites have, and after watching some of the tutorial videos I was hooked. So now I'm sitting here waiting for the FedEx driver.
