Hi Everyone,
My rekindled fascination with kites started from building a basic diamond kite with my girlfriend last month using a mix of supplies from the local craft store, work, and what I had lying around. The seemingly simple design was at times not so simple, but in the end watching it soar 50+ ft into the air made it worth all the hassle.
From there, I went in a slightly different direction after stumbling across a video for the Emong Glider:
I watched every video I could find on it until I pulled the trigger last week and bought one for myself. Since then my girlfriend and I have been heading to the park on the weekends to hone our gliding skills. We're not the most graceful but we're getting there!

I would really like to someday be able to make my own glider kites using specialized materials like ripstop and carbon spars. My next purchase (when I'm less poor) will likely be a quad line Rev or Power Kite.
Looking forward to posting here! From the posts I've read this place seems like a great community.
