These are fairly popular in the far east. You can spend a little or alot on these. I got to try one it was pretty impressive, you can really make a kite dance with these. Probably easier than trying to reinvent the wheel chopping up an old bike.

Here's my prototype, I'm happy with the spacing, tail length etc. It flys well, bit of a bugger to get back down. Now to take it apart and do the art work!

I will hang my laundry from a second line on days when the wind is fickle i.e. Little to no wind at ground level. You get your lifter up and then raise and lower your laundry like a flag on a pole.

This is what I use for anchoring my larger kites on grass. It is based on a design for holding aircraft down. Simple to make and the longer the spike you use the better the hold. And yes, I highly recommend gloves.Hello,
I have a 13' Flo tail kite and I purchased 500# line. I plan on attaching it with a Larks Head knot. What kind of anchor do you recommend? With the wind off Lake Michigan, I know it's a real possibility this kite is going to pick us up. We sometimes fly on the beach (will 1 large sand anchor suffice?) and sometimes on a grassy hill off the beach (no sand, just soil). What would you recommend? I don't mind buying two separate anchors for different terrain.
Also: do I need gloves to pull this kite down?
Here are the kite stats from the manufacturer (13' wide with 38' tails):Size (W X L): 156 x 535 in / 396 x 1359 cm
Wind Range: 6 ~ 20 mph
Fabric: Nylon
Frame Carbon & Fiberglass
Line Recommended: 250 lb. Test Linehttps://www.premierkites.com/products/33052
Thanks for your input!
Mel

So how did this project go? I didn't contribute as Makatakam and Edmonds answers pretty well covered things. I'll add a few pictures of one I did. I had to put 3 holes in each kite . 2 holes in the sail, one on each side of the spline, and 1 in the keel.

Making your own can be very rewarding and frustrating , I'd start off making somthing smaller than an 8m puss If buying do your home work, some fly better than others and details on the smaller ones are generally not as good as on the larger ones. I bought the one in the picture it is around 90 feet, has 3d suckers and eyes. Smaller versions of this kite have flat eyes and suckers . you can also get squid and jelly fish. Good luck with this and happy shopping or sewing .

I'm kind of late replying to this. Anything further apart than a yard makes launching and take down difficult. I space mine a minimum of the length of the kite and tail apart from each other.

She is definitely a beauty, and looks like she is a well mannered kite. So how many quads do you have now?First Flight of the Dark Sunset Fade Kite.. All in all very pleased with low wind performance.. Winds were hovering between 2-3 MPH with occasional gusts of 5MPH.

An arch is one of this coming winters projects. If I did the math right your line of kites is 180' long, which would (given a perfect of the arch, not real world conditions) put the high spot of the arch (radius) at 57' high.

Thanks! It ended up at 60 sails 3 feet apart. That's a lot longer than I remember it being. Good job!

What will be the price point and distribution of this kite? As for names,
Jogah, Iroquois meaning small spirit people.
or
Aziza, An African ferry.
or
Tien, Vietnamese, meaning Heavenly being or spirit

Congratulations Elmoz use her well. And thank you Mark for putting up such a great prize. The Karma draws are awesome! I'd enter them more often but don't have anything in my kite bag that I would be willing to put up.

I haven't been flying much. Life has been getting in the way but I did get out last night. Just flew for fun, with a long tail on the kite. Only had to share the field with one other flyer. I didn't get a chance to meet him, but he was very good, doing a lot of slack line tricks. As I was packing up an elderly lady stopped and said how much she enjoyed watching me fly, and that maybe I should help the other gentleman as he couldn't even keep his kite right side up.

mutiple kites on one string
in General Single Line
Posted
Lots of different ways to fly multiple kites on one string. Check out the plans for arches and trains on kiteplans.org. You can get a real nice arch from into the wind. Or a train kit (60) from kitekits.com![20190601_132517.jpeg](https://kitelife.com/forum/uploads/monthly_2019_07/20190601_132517.thumb.jpeg.bf3125a16f223b22cb750562264c2606.jpeg)
