  1. I know that 99% of the members are state-side, however I'm certain that UK's Tim Benson is no stranger to you either! I have a gorgeous Outerspace in black, grey, yellow & mylar - simply breathtakingly beautiful (& EU's answer to Prism's comp kites ) So man, did I freak when I heard about his latest venture with partner Andy Wardly - namely, a hybrid quad, the Aribow! Wow, what do you all think about this 3D concept...? If you have the bandwidth, make sure to check out the video!!! Hell, if it wasn't for the fact that I just laid out 300EU for my SS yesterday, I guess I would be ordering one right now - a la "shoot first, ask questions later" impulse buying methodology Anyone seen one in action state-side...? Greetz,
  2. Looks like I'm, er, dominating the forum @ the moment... (it's a lonely, lonely place right now, sniff... ) Last Q for the time being - I got "standard" steel handles with my 1.5 & SS & indoor handles with my SUL. Are there any other Rev handle-types? The reason I ask is that I read somewhere that there are suposedly SUL-specific handles, but I can't find any pics on the net (for that matter, handles are rarely pictured). My indoors are incredibly long(!) + carbon-wrapped. There's no chance of them breaking when used with an SUL @the max wind range, is there...? Thx once more,
  3. I read an article in a German kite-flying mag which claimed that you can *easily* do axles & flic-flacs with a Supersonic... That would be something! I should immediately state that I've never had the pleasure of seeing one of Rev's videos - so please don't flame me if it's shown in the first 30s of the video, lol Was thrilled to learn some new tricks this past weekend (certainly "old hat" for you Rev vets) - pulling hard on the leading-edge lines when the kite's directly above you - to have it come sailing down almost into your hands & - tossing the kite & having it launch before it hits the ground now that's some cool s**t Of course, the latter is only successful with short lines (...unless you're a shot-put athlete... ROFL) Anyways, if there any written tips on tricks not covered by Rev's excellent online guide, please do tell! Thx + cheers, P.S. must be my all-time most embarrassing post (& I am a member of over 30 forums...) Just read this post (& saw the video: my jaw is still on the floor)
  4. Hi2all! I got my 1.5SLE a few years back & it came with Laser Competition Quad Gold - 90LBx85Ft. Today, I just picked up a beautiful black, mylar & gold Supersonic ( ) & it came with Laser Gold Quad - 150Lbx85Ft. Makes sense so far considering the supersonic has more pull than the SLE - but my dealer said that [currently] Rev sells the same lines for both the SLE & Supersonic. Is this true? are my "comp quad gold" older lines or are they still sold with the SLE? Is there a difference in weight-strengh-stretch ratio between comp & non comp lines? Thx for any info you may be able to provide P.S. - On the subject of lines, what would you recommend for the SUL? greetz,
  5. Ouch, sorry about your 1.5 Nope, I'm certainly not the "Traveller" you're thinking of & apart from the Miami Beach, Cervia & Vienna (AT) kite festivals, haven't really been to any other kite festivals. But who knows, maybe someday I'll pop up in your corner of the world, because regardless of the reason behind my trips (business vs. pleasure), I always take the 1.5 along
  6. Thx very much to all! I spent the last three days flying the Revs @Cervia - unfortunately a few weeks too early for the Cervia Int'l Kite Festival (couldn't help it, my GF's daughter's due back @school during the festival). CLT, you're perfectly correct with your concerns - the SUL is delicate to say the least! I was happy to have it though as day one started off with a 2-3Kmh breeze and the std 1.5 wouldn't stay airborn. I got the SUL up, but it was still though keeping it flying w/o having to do indoor-style manuvering(!) Still dunno if it's my [lack of] experience or if even the SUL needs a good 5Kmh to start dancin'.... Anyways, an hr or so later & the wind kicked up to about 10-12Kmh & the SUL had to come down as it started to make a lot of noise (which is never a good sign unless your'e flying a Hawaiian or stack of rainbows ) - so no, I wasn't too keen on stacking the two in fear of killing my new 250Euro SUL A shame, though - what a perfect setup it would make: between the SUL & 1.5 you can fly in pretty much all types of wind conditions & to be able to stack 'em would just add to the pleasure! Can't really afford to buy an extra 1.5 just for stacking (unless someone @this site can vouch for the extra pleasure per dollar!) - I mean, if it's traction I want, then I'll launch my three 6' "Stacker" Flexis & that will just about tear my arms off Thx again for the tips on the lines - I may still risk it on a 3-5Kmh day. I know that on a low-wind day the flexies achieve better results stacked than on their own, so I guess that's ditto for the REVs too! Greetz from the Old World,
  7. I found this Site which sells train lines directly from Revolution & implies that Revolution uses 5' (60") trains. That's pretty damned close to your own guesstimate So you posted your Q back in March... what are your findings - care to share? Thx & cheers,
  8. Hi2all, I'm new to the site - but I've enjoyed & made use of the info I've found here so far I just picked up a 1.5 SUL for those mild summer days to come, but thought I might risk stacking the SUL to my SLE in the meantime! From my experience with Flexifoil Stackers, I know the first kite in the stack (the one attached directly to your lines) bears most of the burden. So I thought it might be safe to fly a stacked SUL on top of a SLE as long as I remain in low-mid wind ranges. Just thought I'd ask you all for you before trying it P.S. [Edit] Maybe I'm one step ahead of myself.... Seven (7) train lines??? What the..., Is this true? Can anyone plz point me to any online documentation / tips on how to attach two (or more) Revs for a stack formation plz? Thx
