  1. Monkey, I did notice you posting earlier, it will be a real honor for me to meet you. You are one of the Greatest. les plus grands aviateurs de cerf-volant. And please...no laughing at my dog staking debut...
  2. That's just what I did, I softly talked to my supervisor, told him about the emotions of kite flying, and got him to weld my dog stake. Hes a nice person and did a good job, I was also trying to bring him over to the dark side.
  3. Maybe we should call it "ANIMAL PARTY" instead of Kite Party... Man, this is too much.
  4. See what I mean...He's a red devil (wolf) in a blue dress (smile)... Aargghh... Heyyy... no panic...I'll bring my dog and his war plane.... IKE, The Red Baron is coming to the rescue...YEAhhh...
  5. Thank you so much Penny, I am rushing now to get, whatever I can to start practicing the staking, otherwise... I'm dead. The hunter is been hunted now, and have no bullets, (lines) no protection, (experience) nada...??? Maybe I should just... and forget about it.
  6. THAT...IS A BEATIFULL STATEMENT !!! I wish I could say the same thing. I have done nothing in dog staking, (just once) and I've been trying to get some bulk line to make my sets but have have not been able to. and with the 60 line set I have now is way too short, and I only have a few more days to learn and practice if any at all. The worst part of all is that I have seen that Wolf before, and He is big...and... I am scare now. No where to hide...
  7. Hi Penny!!! Penny, do you mean someone else did "my design" before me??? OHH...CRAP...it's been done...I was hoping to be the first...
  8. Thank you John! Your complements are worth a thousand dollars to me plus another few millions from the other quadheads. Yeah, of course, sure, positive, I,... will be there, ... and if Dave gives me a chance, I would like to perform with my new Kite "IKE, THE RED BARON". (if not then I will just play and fly anyway) I named it IKE, after an invitation from Mike Kory, to be in the club. IKE stands for Illinois Kite Enthusiast, and they have a good group of talented people, who encourage kiting, and for me, personally, they have been excelent felow kite fliers, specially Mike Kory, whom I met at the kite Party last year, along with you and other celebrities. Mike is a true gentleman. Unfortunatly they are far away and I can not participate in their club flies, but fortunatly I am not freezing my ass...(excuse me). It's been cold back there, ha...Brrrr... http://www.ikeclub.org/Forums/forum.php And of course, is time to practice with the new Stake, cause, Wolfe Hunting Season is near. See you at the Kite Party John... Hector Herrera The Guatemalan KiteFlier.-
  9. Hello Baloo, Please forgive my English, but...what do you mean by "won't forget to let go"??? I don't get it. Can you explain? Thanks Hector
  10. After watching famous John Barresi, and his dog staking performance, I think many other have followed, some with good results and some with not so good results (like ME) and my little experience showed me something... The question is: Why to have four (or 2 for duals) strings passing trough a double set of ring all in one hole? This practice makes the lines drag too much, and is kind of dificult to most Kite fliers, who attemp this style. MY NEW DOG STAKE DESIGN: is simple, A FOUR RINGS DOG STAKE, one ring for each line, and it could be used for dualies too. this way it will put less resistance, less drag, and perhaps easier to handle for the newcomers!!! John Barresi may not need this concept from Hector Herrera, but if giving an opportunity, I'll let him try it. Check this pics. And now, is time to practice, cause I am going WOLF HUNTING, as soon as the Wolf Hunting Season Starts. And since all this is about having fun...HOW ABOUT SOME SWIMMING? I hope you like my new concept, and that it makes your kite flying life a bit easier, and to turn those laughs into smiles and bring some admiration smiles over to you. YOURS: Hector Herrera Oh...Just for the Heck of it... check this out and tell me what you think.
  11. Thank you REVflyer, and to all the others who help, us, rookies, get better at kite flying. This week end I will be at some fishing tacke store buying those rings. I hope that next year, we'll see each other in Huntington Beach again. Yours Hector Herrera "The Guatemalan Kiteflyer".-
  12. I Just came back from my trip in Guatemala! There was no wind at all any where... I had a chance to fly my Guatemalan kite in a town 3 hour away from the city. Everything else was just beatifull, my daughters and wife had plenty of fun and we are back in bussiness, school, job search etc, etc,... My question goes to John Barresi (Lee Sedwick too) who is (are) real pros at dogstakes flying technicks.: I am going to try flying my flat kite with dogstakes but I can sense that steel is to coarse for the lines, in other words they feel too tight and may damage the lines easily, what do you use? is there a place where we can buy special made dogstakes for kite flying? or do make them yourself? Thanks guys. Hector Herrera
  13. First of all. Wow... you are gorgeus!!! and a Master at the indoors. Thank you for your respond. I think I will try the indoor kite outdoor since I don't have any connection for a gim or similar. I am going to try my kids school. But I know for a fact that next month I will be using for the first time, the salon of acts in guatemala since I am leaving for a one month trip with my wife and 3 daughters. They all passed the Grade and my gift of appreciation is a two way trip to Guatemala. They deserve it. Thanks again, I will try to imitate you. At least, I am going to try to keep the kite in flite. Truly Yours Hector: "the guatemalan KiteFlier".-
  14. Has anyone flown the Rev. indoor, outdoors? if anyone has done so, can you tell us how did it go? Is it posible to do tricks outdoor with such a kite? I frequently go to this park where the wind is dead, and would like to try the indoor Rev. kite outdoor I don't have one yet, and would like to hear experiences from others. Thanks Hector. "The Guatemalan KiteFlyer".-
