Hi everyone,

We have been having a great time flying kites with our grandkids;  but I want to make sure we are doing everything we can to keep it fun and safe for them. What are some of the best techniques / tips for teaching young children how to fly kites?

If there are any accessories ; we can make to our current kites to make them more kid-friendly;  I would d love to hear about those too.

Are there specific types of kites that are easier for kids to handle? What about safety tips to prevent accidents / losing control of the kite?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you

Hi!

I started flying fighter kites with my then 5-year-old son. 2 and 4-liners were still too difficult. A single line quickly becomes too boring.
I launched the Fighter Kite for my son and put it in his hand. Then he just has to steer it with tension.  Then I put mine in the air.
The child then had a lot of fun "fighting" against his father and of course won often 😉
