Guru4tru Posted March 2, 2011 Report Share Posted March 2, 2011 As I said in the “Contest” post: “I decided to follow Baloo's suggestion of getting another subscription...which has just increased my odds of winning by 100%!!” and ”If these kites were going up for grabs on a "raffle"...I'd probably spend the cost of another subscription, or better, on raffle tickets for them!! And if I lose...I haven't really lost, because I’m supporting Kitelife (which is the place that has taught me how to fly).” I know “Baloo” is smarter then the average bear, but I was wondering…how much smarter?!?! So I thought I’d run some numbers...... Forgetting about how our subscriptions support Kitelife and how great Kitelife and JB really are…and coming from a purely “KITE GREED” point of view...(I’m trying to figure this out…yeah…yeah...I’m a little slow...hang in there)...But, 2 subscriptions would be like my buying 2 tickets in maybe about 10 different kite drawings....which would be the same as buying 1 ticket in 20 different kite drawings.....which would be equal to about 1 dollar and 10 cents ($1.10) for a chance to win an expensive kite in each of the 20 drawing! And if I was really that “unlucky” (and “I’m” not THAT unlucky) to be the last person to ever to win out of all of, the about, 300 subscribers...and then I hit...let’s say like on the Rev. in this contest...then I would have shelled out about $330 and would have won a kite worth $350! I, with 299 loses behind me, would have made $20 on the deal!! heehee!! That’s funny!! What a deal! And that’s all above and beyond the support that I would be giving to Kitelife!! ========== Now if my numbers are incorrect...I am sure I will be hearing from Jeepster or Hedgewarden or some other smart asp out here!! (I await your corrections or “fine tuning” on my numbers.) heehee!! If the numbers are even close, then...Thanks for your suggestion Baloo, but now my chances are as good as yours!! heehee!
