Scott E. Spencer Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 AKA Convention Workshops 2006 Des Moines, Iowa Oct. 2 – Oct. 7, 2006 Greetings fellow Kite Flyers. I have been asked to coordinate the workshops at the Convention. What I need now are ideals for workshops. Below is a small list I came up with. You don’t have to attend to make a suggestion. I just need some input. Now the hard part. Would you be interested in presenting a workshop or know of someone who might be interested. One and a half hour time span. The hardest part is I need a commitment by 7-1-06. This will allow for time to print the convention brochure. You may post a reply here or talk to me privately. Scott E. Spencer 1024 Linwood Ave. Collingswood, NJ 08108 Email - Ttbgfnj (at) aol (dot) com 856-854-5520 8-10 EST or the machine is on 24/7. Must have: Fighter Kite Symposium. Kite Makers - Before Kite Makers – After Sport Kite Symposium Indoor Presentations: Possibility of one three-hour class, for the make and takes. Possibility of indoor workshops in the afternoon. This will conflict with field activates. (Kite flyer, tag along, symposium) Any other ideals. How to use and navigate the Kite Forums. What are spars all about? KAP Parachuting Fauna and Candy Drops. Sewing 101 Painting on Rip stop. How to make paper and tissue paper kites. Are you afraid of math and don’t want to be. (Kite making) No Sew, kite making. Ask not what the AKA can do for you, but what can YOU do for the AKA. How to fly kites indoors. Any other ideals. Indoor Make and Take: There is talk of the presenters being able to collect a fee for the cost of the project (non paper hand outs). This would be variable based on the project. Miniature kites. Charlie Sotiches class = one postage stamp = .39 cents. Fighter Kite. Graphite and special fabrics = $10.00 Miniature kites for beginners. Advanced Miniature kite. Charlie Sotich, class for people who have taken a Charlie class before. AKA Table Top Banner Fighter Kite: Andy Selzer and the Bandana Gang: Field Workshops: Flying Fighter Kites, Beginners and Advanced. Flying Sport Kites, Beginners and Advanced. Buggies How to win a Rock battle. How to fly a single line kite. (Bridle adjustments) Possibility of afternoon field workshops: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Thanks Quote
