Penny Lingenfelter Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 This is the 14th Annual "UP YOUR WIND" Pacific Beach Kite Festival. It's Sat. and I believe Sun. Usually we see a few Canadians and Eastern WA kitefliers at this event. Yeah! There's no real competition, though the Hi-Fliers Kite Shop has sponsored envelopes w/meals at restaurants, cash, etc. They send kids out and say, "Find your favorite kite" and they give the owner an envelope. Last year I sat at quite the winning table. They came away w/lots of cash! It's a laid back, no competition, pat yourself on the back, it was a wonderful season kind of kite festival. We'll see those that aren't competing at Seaside there. Pacific Beach, WA up the coast about 10 minutes from Ocean Shores. BB Penny Quote
