After your new lines stretch, and if one gets longer than you desire, how do you shorten it? I'm assuming that you tie knots at the handle end to take up the extra?

Also, the lines at the handle end of one set aren't sleeved. Should they be, and are there sleeving supplies and needles available at a fabric shop etc?

Thanks,

I flew in 7-15 mph or so winds today and practiced stalls and back flips with a new jam. At some point, I noticed that one line stretched (I think?) about 3 inches. I'm not sure what to make of that much stretch? I really don't know what's normal though. I adjusted the long one and kept flying.

At least during the initial stretch out phase, switch lines around from side to side (and top to bottom on quad). It can help the stretch even out.

Sleeving is optional. Some people like it, some not. Some think it is extra work, some not. I prefer sleeving for its ease in handling, in particular loosening larksheads.

Was this a used set of lines? If so, it sounds like someone cut them down and went without sleeving on the cut end. Strange.

No, they were new.
