It's very laid back after the hectic festivals all summer. Any competition has really been for fun. Give a kid an envelope with a prize and send him off to choose his favorite kite. You never know what they are going to do. Why do they come? It is a beautiful spot to fly, easy access, good comraderie. Just for the fun of it. Hey, you know in a busy kiters life that just for the fun of it gets fewer and further apart with event schedules and comps. Those that are going to Seaside, good luck with comps. Umm, we got on it really late this year but, I WILL say that we got (what we believe to be) the last affordable (not) motel room in town. Campground was full. There were 2 bedroom cabins for rent... for like $190/night -no thank you!
