TahoeKiter Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 A gentleman came into our store the other day and sold us 5 kites he had for many years. The only reference I have is the assembly sheet refering to the name "SL 88" or "Airforce Power". There's two sizes, 7ft (1748 sq ft) and 9 ft wing span. They seem pretty well made and appear to be very durable. Actually they are very heavy duty, but it says the wind range is 5-45 MPH. They have two horizontal cross spars, and two verticle spars, 5 standoffs and has a "V" cut at the nose. Only two of them had line and bridles that connected to a PVC bar. I'm looking for information on it's origin and set up. Any help appriciated. Thanks David Quote
James9888 Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 My experience is limited but I know of only one kite with five standoffs that is also dersigned for high wind. The Benson Mini Gemini. here's a link to the web site, you can check it out. http://www.bensonkites.com/kites/minigem/index.html Have fun! James9888 Quote

The Kite Shoppe Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 I forgot to mention that i could take a pic of it and post it if anyone is interested That would be great! Or.....sometimes we fly at Delta park too....on the west side of I-5..... Maybe we will see you there sometime, and get to take a look at it. Does it have any tags on it, or manufacturer label? John Barresi Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 I would almost say it looks like a Cheetah, but the aspect ratio is too steep... Anyone else have an idea? Quote
MADKITER Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 It looks like a Shanti to me! The wind range says something else. My Shanti Foxtrot: Quote
