Don't Stop Flying !

Being the newest member of KL, I feel compelled to say, kite flying is not like riding a bike.....

I started flying in 2000 after buying a dual line that was sooo small and fast it spent more time digging holes in the sand with the entire leading edge than it did in "controllable flight". Giving up was NOT an option. It was 3 days of aggravtion before an "experienced flyer" helped show me what I was doing wrong. He probably felt sorry for the the kite, it was going through a lot of abuse. :ani_giveup:

I went on to other kites, and became "fairly" proficient at dual line including some tricks and eventually the bag started to fill, THEN I found the "dark side" and was immediately hooked on Revs, and the "speed series". The bag grew even more, then...........Life Happened.........

Time also "flies" even when you're NOT having fun and I suddenly realized that "wow..it's been a long time since I've had the kites out". So, I loaded the kite bag and the "better half" and went to the beach.....

To say I was rusty is putting it mildly, it seems that kite flying is a use it or lose it obsession. It was not as ugly as day 1-3 but I thought it would be more like riding a bike, once you've done it you would not forget how. Maybe I'm the only one this has happened to, maybe it is the CRS that comes with times passing, but giving up is still not an option. Besides, I live at the WSIKF so at least once a year, maybe, I can see the new stuff.

Keep Flying! it only gets better :ani_yahoo:

I'd like to, but, I hate that drive. Not bad from your side, but that's the long way around for me. Hwy 101 in the summer " :cat_sick: ". Only way I might do it is on the H-D, but that would have to be a Sun. Things are pretty quiet In Lincoln City though on Sunday aren't they?

Hmmm... Harley kite bag holder :ani_idea:
