Bill Anderson
I have a neighbor that offered her serger that not being used anymore for $50. I understand it "overstitches" as well not a clue what that means but she seemed pretty proud of the fact. .I have an old viking sewing machine that works ok for a lot of things but was wondering is the serger something worth the $ for use on something perhaps down the road or a waste of money ? I intend to sew mostly SLK stuff, banners bols etc..
jeepinjeepin
Can you make bar tacks with it in heavy webbing? If so, it could come in handy for making slings. Other than that, I have no clue.
GammoRay
Buy it! If you don't like it, sell it to me! A serger takes two pieces of material, sews them together, trims the seam allowances, and binds (over-stitches) the allowances— all in one operation! A serger takes two pieces of material, sews them together, trims the seam allowances, and binds (over-stitches) the allowances all in one operation! Well, that sounds pretty cool. I learned something.
