Bill Coons Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 SCCC has hosted this festival for 15 years. It's held on the first Saturday of May. In addition to kite flying demonstrations, NYKE sponsors bol races using 8 foot bols built by club members. This year we had 45 people participate in the races. The past two years we have also invited the Banana Kelly school in Brooklyn, NY to come up and have their homemade kites judged. And we usually have a rokaku battle, but due to heavy winds were not able to do that this year. The NYKE club has built two very large cooperative projects, a playsail (27'x40') and a giant fugu (25' diameter body). I've attached photos of both in flight at Sullivan this year. Bill Quote
