tbh i'm pretty much like you. had a small starter kite, then got a better kite, then got a silverfox there's also this thread which was quite useful to me. I took some time figuring out how to tension the wing. leech line is easier to understand thankfully. don't hesitate to ask questions, no doubt e can help each other out with our new toys http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/8216-silver-fox-23-ul-wing-tip-tension-help/

from what i understand the sail material is different (ventex polyester for the std and icarex pc31 for the pro) don't forget to send me some bridle mersurements
-
i got the pro for the exact same reason

hmmm i'll need to experiment on my hypnotist. i changed it to the 3 point bridle and didn't try the turbo since. but now i'm slightly better at flying maybe i'll notice the difference more easily ChaseNix i had some quality issues on my sfpro. 1-2cm of the wing trailing edge wasn't stitched and the sail is stained. but it was an easy fix and i can live with some stains. still, inspect your kite closely. is the khk skyscraper a premier widow ng? i was on the fence between this and the fwk sf. finding the sfpro at a nice price tilted the scale

Long story short: i have a silverfox 2.3 pro which is awesome but is even more nervous than my daschund. So i want to adjust the bridle from the stock turbo setting to a 3point setting. thing is while the bridle is very adjustable, it doesn't have the bead system. so i was wondering if there is someone who has the 2.3 on the 3point bridle setting who could send me the mesurements. Thanks

Difference between Widow NG, Widow NG Special and KHK Skyscraper
Fluke replied to cjkramos's topic in General Sport Kite
I asked Premier about this. The only difference between the two kites is that the Widow NG Special has fewer panels so they were able to reduce the cost slightly. Both kites are the same platform. -
i'll take a pic of what it looks like this afternoon. basically when laid flat (not to scale) and pulling on the bridles it looks like this. I like tinkering

Btw at $4.99 shipped on ebay. I'm trying to find ways to make it better since i know some people who bought similar kites and get frustrated really fast with it. So if i can help them out with it i will Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L21 using KiteLife mobile app

It's a small delta. About 1m20 wide. The stock lines were way off and the kite had no pull or drive at all. It just floated here and there. So i eyeballed the bridle on my hypnotist and added a knot ladder to the upper bridle for some adjustability. I have yet to try it out. Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L21 using KiteLife mobile app

So no short cuts.. I`ll have to break out the calculators and trigonometry lessons then.. good thing i`m using a $5 kite for my experiments . oh btw where do you get bridle lines? i almost always see flying lines.

hello all. I've been searching around on the web but can't really get a straight answer. i've found books about ratios and %'s but that was getting overcomplicated really fast. Is there a rule of thumb when it comes to designing bridles for dlk? i tried to redo the bridle of one of my chinese made kites by eyeballing the overall line geometry of my higher end ones but to be honest i have no idea what i'm doing

Having too many tunable settings is a bad thing 🤣. I went from a kite with zero settings (paimpol expresso) to a somewhat tunable kite (prism hypnotist) to basically the kite equivalent of a trackcar (flyingwings sf2.3pro) and i can clearly see myself getting overwhelmed with all the settings that I can fiddle with...so now i only seldom adjust the light/heavy wind setting (which i almost always bring back to factory settings) and occasionally play with the turbo bridle setting. But i also plan on leaving that alone too once i find what i like. Look at me, talking like a kite vet/pro when I've only been in the game for a few months [emoji1] Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L21 using KiteLife mobile app

I've found links to a near 100 page book by philip chatelain on kites. very very informative but in french Le Cerf-Volant acrobatique - La Synthèse, de Philip78 he also has a 20 page document on bridles Bridages - La Synthèse, de Philip78

Ok so it's a matter of pull vs lift? Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L21 using KiteLife mobile app

Wait i'm getting confused on the nose setting. So in light wind = nose towards me, high wind = nose away from me but in very high wind i pull the nose towards me? Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L21 using KiteLife mobile app

i think my line wrapped around my wing tip and slightly gnawed my end cap I can stall (and sometimes axels) but t's not very clean and crisp.right now it looks like i'm just tumbling in the air. that's what i want to work on. i kinda manage on the hypno. i theoretically know how to do it, i still lack to reflex/timing to move forward to maintain the stall. that's the focus of my sessions atm. but overall i'm pretty happy with my progression so far. and B13 is a great teacher we also managed to get 4 other people to start out. oh and i'm a pro at ground recover now

had the silverfox maiden flight yesterday and man it's a whole another beast. i was thinking about selling my hypnotist but i feel i need more air time on it first. managed to do 1 rollup but had no idea how to roll out of it . besides a minor cut on a wingtip vinyl cap all went rather well aka i don't lawn dart as much or as hard as i used to . now learning basic snapstalls and axels

Yep it's a finger/wrist strap combo. I have a very limited experience but its lighter than my prism equalizer straps. looks like it's made of the same material as keychain neck straps and is actually very well made. As for the kite, i went for a silverfox 2.3 pro but i must admit i looked at freilein a bit and they do look interesting whether be their qlk or dlk oh and i also bought a small hengda stuntkite and a few cheap slks funnily enough i've found out that the slk (which i anchored on the field) along with the tailed stuntkites are the one that draws crowds here's a small video of my latest kiting session with a friend of mine. I'm with the red hat with green kite Edit: Sudden realization - i am becoming a kite hoarder....

ok couldn't wait New bird was ordered meanwhile this came for it in the mail

i actually like the widow ng design but the new silverfox seems nice too. i saw a post where they say it may be available in oct/nov. If true that's great timing still interested in views for the widow vs silverfox 2.3 vs 2.5 though
-
that's great i had no idea is there a thread where i can follow its progress?
-
also does anyone know about this version of the widow ng? https://premierkites.com/collections/sport-kites/products/67816 seems like it's only a cosmetic change but is also slightly cheaper
-
I am back to receive some more enlightenment XD I would like your honest opinion about a potential next buy: the flyingwings silverfox 2.3 or the premier widow ng?
