  1. Are you going to get his new M3 or the current Mamba.? It sounds like the M3 might be a little more trick capable. I hope to get to fly one next weekend(M3) Mamba 3
  2. Sounds like a pretty good outcome. Blue
  3. Hope your surgery turned out well.  Blue

  4. My Mamba(STD) has flown in 18-20 with no trouble, do get some wing shudder if I push it to hard in the middle of the window. Have put it on the ground a fair amount trying things, and nothing has broken. Kite is a 10 for me. I do not try to fly it over 15mph, but the winds gust up here fairly often. Over 18MPH I bring out the Whizz.
  5. I would guess so. I am new to light winds, but I can fly my Mamba Std well at 5 MPH, so I would think the UL would be good at 2-3. You should talk to Ken. I can only axel, 1/2 axel and turtle at this point, but the Mamba stays well in the air at 5 without having to pump much. Can still fly patterns at 5MPH Blue
  6. I really like mine. I have only been a high wind guy, and the Mamba has me learning tricks, yet it still flies patterns or whatever I want nicely. Ken really makes it an easy process to buy, and you can do whatever colors you like. I give mine a 10 because while trying to learn things I have put it on the ground and there has been no damage, and it looks good in the sky. Blue(it will be worth the wait for you)
  7. Did you go with a stock color, or your own colourizing?
  8. My wife's first time flying a sport kite. 14mph with a Quantum 2. Says her arms are sore(flew at least an hour) Only one crash at Mach 1 speed. Soccer game was forced to pause until the tremors ceased. Quantum blew apart but nothing broke. She will not be piloting the Mamba any time soon. Video too big for here(on Prism site). Blue
  9. I hear you, am also past my good years(59). I am going to snowkite this winter and if I like it, I will move to the water. I have been wakeboarding and snowboarding for a number of years, hopefully that helps. My big fear on the water is the drive time to Lake Michigan(1 1/2 hours), and the wind disappears. The boat propels me no matter the wind. Need partners for the boat and they are scarce lately. Blue
  10. Sir, what made you decide to stop kitesurfing? Blue
  11. Thank you, I am new to the game, but I really like how it seems to stay hooked up, or how it will float if I give it line. Glad Ken made it for me(also got some extra sticks). Flying the more responsive kites has allowed me to fly my Whizz in the high winds. That kite is quite fussy in the sky, and super fast. So at this point I am covered for high and fairly low wind. Like the hobby so far. Did not get a Level One kite, but the people there are very nice and responsive. Need to get a Badass at some point. Blue
  12. Awhile back I asked for input on what to get for a 6 - 12 MPH kite, ended up with a Mamba.(Super easy process with Ken). Got to fly it today(8-10MPH) went well. Much easier to fly than I was anticipating. Did an axel two different times completely by accident as I was playing around at the top of the window. Problem is I really do not know what I did to make it happen. Had a video for you showing my mad skills which ended with me doing a stall and then a quick wing drag and landing. Unfortunately the wing drag ended up being my landing.(hence the CarbonCrusher). Video was too big to post. Picture instead. Blue
  13. Those are so nice. All these photos of his nice work really make me glad I went the way I did. It got moved up in his que to later this week was not supposed to get made for 3 weeks, great for me. I will post a pic, maybe a video if I can get it in the sky. Blue
  14. Good to hear, he is making it this coming week.
  15. I have a long way to go, hopedfully it goes well. The Moonie version is quite cool. Blue
  16. Yes, I am really looking forward to getting it. I told him the colors I wanted and he sent me like 12 variations, of which I liked them all. He is going to make me one of them per his choosing. It will be unknown to me as to which one he picks. Retirement gift to myself. I look forward to my development in this hobby. Blue
  17. I went with the Mamba. I really like the fact that Ken is making this for me based on what I like, and doing it at his shop in North Carolina. Pic will follow when I get it. I would like to thank you all for your comments. I locked on to Makatakam's advice to get what I want and not worry about the crashes. The Hydra would have been the financially responsible pick(never good at that). Blue
  18. Thanks for the info, I am down to the Mamba, the Badass, and the Hydro. Pricewise the Hydro is awesome. Pulling the trigger tomorrow. Anyone with more advice??? Blue
  19. Thanks, what wind range do you fly your Std in?
  20. I have dealt with Andy, and he is a super nice guy. That is what got me looking at the Challengers. Does the Std fly well in 6-12 or would you get the Lite? Yes, I am glad to get some input here. I actually have quite a few good places to fly around here. I will not likely ever fly below 6, and when the wind is above 20, the Whizz will be out. Paul from Level One has been very responsive, the Badass or the Hydra(he designed it right) are his recommends. Seems like a good guy. Thanks for the help.
  21. Thank you, I also like your approach to get what I want and not to worry about damaging it. I like the Badass and Mamba. Used kites seem hard to come by. The classifieds on here are all mostly expired for dual line kites.
  22. I will investigate the bridle adjustments. Flew it in 10 yesterday and it was OK, ussually lost it at the edges, but was able to get it back up. Thanks for the info.
