  1. I have a secret agreement with JB, no one else must know OK.

The big secret about haveing 2 subscrition numbers.

Pay twice, simple as that. kid_devlish.gif

Sorry mate just funnin with you.

You can have pretty much as many subscriptions to Kitelife as you want, at least I am pretty sure you can.

And yes, you get two (or more) bites at the cherry with the drawings.

Sounds like a secret plot, to me.............kid_cussing.gif

  2. This one has gone a bit quiet, thought I would give it a bump in case anyone else out there fancies a chance at winning a brand new B series, and loads of other kites during the Year, just for the cost of a subscription to Kitelife.

Oh and the warm feeling that being a subscriber will give you of course.

Hey Baloo, Just curious, but how come you have two subscriptions to Kitelife ? Sounds like you get two chances to win. Very sneaky !!! kid_cussing.gif

  3. I got involved with kites on the North Carolina, Outer Banks. During the summers, on trips with my wife to the coast, I just simply couldn't spend, but just so much time, sitting on the beach, watching the scenery, and the ocean. I just had to have something to do. One day, I said, okay, I'm going and buy me a kite, or something. I've got to have something to do, while I'm sitting here. I started out with a standard delta, single line kite, which quickly became just as boring as sitting on the beach. Then one day, I saw a guy with a stunt kite, that had two lines. Man, this thing was going everywhere, and he looked like he was having a ball. I finally went over and talked to him, and got a little direction. From there, it was on to "Kitty Hawk Kites", where I got my first stunt kite, a beautiful Prism Fanatic. What a great kite. Still got it, and I learned to fly on that kite. I didn't destroy it, and I still fly that kite, to this day. Then, many stunt kites later, and as time moved along, I finally decided to take the plunge into quad line. Revs seemed to be the "one", and now, it seems that they are the only one.

Well, I know it's a short story, but, I haven't been flying long. I'm still learning, but I love it. What a great hobby, and thanks for all the support and help that I find on the forums. Everyone is great..............

  4. Well, I hate to point fingers, but I suppose since we've been asked, it's okay. I began messing around with kites some years ago, and at the time, they were dual line stunt kites. This hobby began for me, while making annual visits, to the North Carolina Outer Banks, and at that time, I suppose my favorite kite shop was Kitty Hawk Kites, because they were the only kite shop, that I had any experience with. They are actually located within the city of Nags Head, NC, not Kitty Hawk, as the name implies. Anyway, they were there, when I was at the coast, and I suppose that they were the first kite shop, that I ever had any dealings with. I bought my first kite from them, a Prism Fanatic, which I thought was the greatest, and I actually learned how to fly on that kite, without destroying it. Since that time, I've purchased many other kites, however, from different shops and businesses. It seems that Kitty Hawk Kites was always to busy, to help with a repair, and to be quite honest, have never had anything that I needed for a repair (but that's another story), but anyway, they were located, right across the street from Jockey's Ridge, which is just about the greatest place to fly a kite, in the world.

Eventually, I found the online stores. Actually, I've gotten some pretty decent deals from Rudy's Toys. He's not just into kites, however, but he did have some great prices on some of the lower end stunt kites. I've also gone the eBay route, and purchased several kites from North Coast Wind Power, up in Cleveland. Seemed like a really nice guy, and he did deliver a good product, and quickly. At the time, that's all I was looking for.

And then, I got into buying supplies for making line-sets, etc, and I ran across Midwest Kites, out in Davenport, IA. Well, I've dealt with quite a few different online stores, but I've just got to say, Lyn & Rich, at Midwest Kites, are just the best. When I defected from dual lines, over to quad lines, Revs to be exact, they were both very helpful. They answered all of my stupid questions, and spent a lot of their valuable time, with me on the phone, just listening, and trying to direct me in the right direction. Well, I recently purchased a couple of B-Series Revs from Lyn & Rich, and their service was excellent. My purchases arrived in great shape, and so fast, I couldn't believe it. Then, there was a small problem, with a spar, and without delay, Lyn was in touch with Lolly at Rev, and bingo, problem resolved, immediately. Man, when those two get together, your problems are gone. So, I've just got to say..........thanks Lyn, thanks Rich, and thanks Lolly. You Rev heads out there know who Lolly is. Anyway..........I'll have to say, that online, my vote goes to Lyn & Rich at Midwest. I know that there are a great bunch of folks out there, that honestly want to help all of us air heads, and I have conversed with many of them. I only wish I could afford to buy kites from them all, but for now, I suppose I'll get off and let someone else talk..............

  5. Honestly, who reads all the junk in "automatic" emails anyway? :)

Indeed, no such thing as stupid questions here.

    Thanks John,

Oh, BTW, I used the Contact link, on the forum page today to ask about my subscription number and another question or two. Do those emails go to you, or someone else?

  6. Hey...

I'm new to kitelife. I'm interested in signing up for this drawing. When I clicked on sign up, it brought me to the

subscribers page which I just sign up last night. It takes me back to the current drawings page after clicking drawings.

Does this mean I'm signed into the drawing as a subscriber already? Let me know. Thanks for your time.

    Rob

    Hey Rob,

Don't feel bad. I'm in the exact same situation. I'm also new, and I just joined up today, and I had the exact same questions as you, concerning the drawings. According to JB, it sounds like we are in. I suppose we should have read that email confirmation, that we got from Kitelife, about them getting our payment. Makes you feel kinda stupid, doesn't it? But not to worry, I've been assured by JB, himself, that there are "NO STUPID QUESTIONS, on this forum". Only a good bunch of folks, ready and willing to help you out. So, from one Newbie to another, good luck on the drawing, but I really hope they pick me. I'm feeling lucky. reef

  7. As for the confusion in functionality with the new layout, it will come, I assure you... Just ask some of the folks here who were resistant at first, repeat visits will familiarize you with the new format, it does work VERY well once you get a handle on it.

Realize, if someone came here as their first kite forum, they'd pick it up fairly readily... Making a switch from the old format, it's a bit of a shock (change).

Hey JB, Thanks for the confidence. It's coming, it's coming. Like I said, it was a bit confusing, right at the first. I kept seeing all the same names and subjects, etc, but I have finally gotten it through my thick head, that this site is for "ALL" kiter's, not just Rev fliers. That's good ! I still have a question, when I go to my profile page, it says that I haven't set my status? What does that mean? What is my status and what am I suppose to put there? Just curious.............reef

  8. Yep, no question about it, I'm confused with this forum. Not that I can't feel my way around, but I just don't see the point in having two forums, that are so much alike. I can't seem to find anything here, and it is definitely difficult to edit personal information, especially something as simple as your signature. Very possibly, I am doing something wrong, or have so setting wrong. I think I've got myself set-up, but I'm not sure it's correct? And what is the "Status" thing, where it says "I have not set my status" ??? I don't have a clue what my status is, at this point. I'm probably just on JB's &%#@*_^$&%^ list by now. JB, I don't mean to be negative, but like I said, I'm really a bit confused at this point..............

  9. Well, this is my first post on this site, I think. I'm really getting confused as to the difference in this forum and the Rev forum, and why there are two forums. I'm sure as time goes on, it will become clearer, but I don't why we need two forums, as I have just learned how to use the Rev forum. Again, I'm still a little bit confused as to why there are two, and are they really the same, or what is the connection, or relationship, of the two forums.

JB, if you get a chance, I'd appreciate it if you could clear this up for me. I'm in a struggle here............reef runner
