#8 is Fred van Curen. How about that beginner's luck? Congratulations, sir. Please PM me your address and I will arrange the shipping with the other contributors. JB, you've been spending a lot of time in the south. "y'all"...really? -

Collective Karma-Stake Holder, Stake, and Kites (8/8/14)
bbailey49 replied to bbailey49's topic in Karma Drawings
Scott, my thought for those of us contributing and competing, is to give our particular offering to the next number drawn by the RNG, should we win. -
All, We have received a couple of requests from outside of the Lower 48 to consider expanding the area about which members are eligible to enter Karma drawings. JB and I have discussed it and have agreed upon the following rule change: Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. This change will be added to the Karma rules top post as well. Thanks all, -B

Come on, Folks. We need more than this! -
An honest mistake since they are both the same colors. I only knew because of the magic sticks.

Welcome, Fred! -
That's actually a Zen, but who's counting Thank you for sharing those pictures, TK. They are really beautiful...if you can ignore the ugly flier holding the kite.

I'm in! Yeah, I noticed the inversion and didn't feel like fixing it either.Come on, Mark, why don't you get in? -
Alright, folks here it is! Larry OKC is dealing with a loss in his family so a few of us have joined forces to put together a drawing in his stead. Courtesy of Amexpmh; another para-cord kite stake holder And since a stake holder needs a stake to hold we have a very unique beer tap handle stake thanks to etully (note: the marble stake is only shown as a size reference, it is not a part of the drawing) and stakes are pretty useless without a kite (or two) to hold. Why not a duallie and a rev? Tmadz has graciously offered to pay forward a red, white, and blue Kite Co. Crystal he won in a previous Karma drawing and mystainedskin is likewise paying it forward by offering a B2 full vent he was fortunate enough to win in a KiteLife subscriber drawing. The only thing that is new will be the stake holder, but everything is functional. As an added bonus and to help out JB a little, I am throwing in a 1-year KiteLife member subscription. If you're not a subscriber, you'll get an entry Into the subscriber giveaways, plus all of the other goodies subscriber access allows. If you're already a subscriber, I'll give you the option of taking this as an extra subscription (2 entries into the drawing), or when your renewal comes up, your next year will be on me. Everyone (including those who have offered prizes) may get in on this drawing. I will find an objective drawing method that everyone will find acceptable. Maybe I'll get JB to do the drawing if he chooses not to enter himself. So everyone get "IN" and let's keep the Karma rolling -B Standard Karma Note: This is a Karma Drawing. The winner of the drawing is expected to pay it forward by offering their own prize for the next drawing. Please do not enter unless you are willing to offer your own prize, preferably not the prize you just won. Drawings should be open for entry approximately 2 weeks, and the next drawing should be posted as soon as possible to keep the Karma rolling. These drawings are run by and for KiteLife members. The moderating team only ensures that your drawing post contains all of the pertinent information (drawing date/time, adequate prize description, drawing rules) before approval. If you are a KiteLife member, and you reside in the lower 48 states of the US, you are eligible to enter. You do not have to be a paid subscriber. (Edit to reflect rule change) Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. Here is the link to the original Rules and Guidelines thread: http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/5426-rules-and-guidelines-please-read/ The mechanism for the drawing itself is entirely at the discretion of the person offering the prize. In the past, entry number has been determined either by order of entry or by the post number in which the member declares Im in to the drawing. The drawings have been performed using the RNG method (http://www.random.org/sequences/) or by choosing the numbers out of a hat (I believe an adorable daughter did the picking in that scenario). The only requirement is that the method of selection is clearly spelled out in the drawing post. Entry into the drawings is done by STARTING a post in the drawing thread with Im in. In order to remove any confusion or misinterpretation, only entries with posts that START with Im in will be considered. As with all other KiteLife drawings, bantering is encouraged. This is for fun after all. 1. Tmadz 2. bbailey49 3. Nick Russell 4. lmoaks 5. makatakam 6. Jay Farlow 7. etully 8. Fred van Curen 9. mystainedskin 10. Reved 11. RevRookie 12. Joespickles 13. mtgrizzly52 14. Wayne Dowler

I will have a post up by the end of the day tomorrow. Thank you, Marshall. Scott, Tmadz, and etully.

Contributors to this drawing are certainly welcome to enter. I know I want to. I will find a way to do the drawing that is clear of any potential conflict. Maybe have JB do it if he's not in himself. Something like that.

I have a homemade stake for the beer lovers out there...fiberglass shaft mated to a Genesee Cream Ale bear tap for the handle. Winner! Winner! We have our stake, our stake holder and some kites for the stake to hold. Tmadz, let me know which one of those two old duallies you would like to offer. I don't think we need to use both with Scott offering the B2 as well. Maybe hold on to the other one as a direct Karma gift to some would be flyer you meet out in the world. etully, please post a pic or send me a link to a pic of your stake that I can use in the drawing post. I will be putting together a post in the next couple of days. Thank you, my friends, for once again showing me how generous this community is. You rock!
-
Scott and Jason, you are both right. This kite will come to Florida...when I bring it with me to visit
-
Alright, we have a stake holder, we have kites, anyone got a cool stake? That's all we're missing. Is OCR around any, Scott? He had some really nice stakes.
-
You are death on bridles.
-
Poetry will get you nowhere, Scott.
-
Thanks, Marshall. That's a great idea. Let's make it a package Karma prize. We've got Marshall's Stake holder. Anyone got a cool stake to go with it? How about a kite for that stake to hold? Let's put some oomph back into our Karma. I've never failed to be impressed by the generosity of my fellow kite fliers, don't let me down. I'll throw in a one year subscription to KiteLife to the winner. Come on folks, let's make this one epic!

Everyone, Larry has suffered a death in his family. Inasmuch as family takes precedence over anything else, I've let him know to not worry about finding a prize to offer. Let's all send some positive thoughts his way as he deals with this difficult time. I need a volunteer. Anyone out there have something to offer to keep the karma rolling? Marshall, do you have another stake holder laying around? Anyone got a kite they don't fly that could use a new home? Let's keep this going for Larry. Thanks in advance, everyone. -B

Karma - Para-cord Stake Holder and more (7/4/14)
bbailey49 replied to Amexpmh's topic in Karma Drawings
Been in touch with Larry. We're working on figuring out what he can offer. We were all new to kiting once and didn't have a lot laying around that we could offer. Drawing post soon. -B -
I have used that word often in describing my state of mind when flying. It get's kinda confusing since Rev makes a Zen.

I fly to escape the rest of the world

Sounds like a great escape from the storm, Marshall, and good flying times. Congrats, Larry. Meet JB and win a drawing all in the same week. That's good times.
