  1. We do what we can for you, John. Our way of paying you back for what you do for us. You provide free stuff, and we entertain you with our endless (and irrelevant) sparring over who's going to win. THEY ARE MINE! by the way.
  2. Well then, we need to work on meeting up on the same field one day. I stalked your Flickr and I agree, we'd have a good time.
  3. You've seen my profile, I just like to fly kites. Single, dual, quad, framed, foil, power, whatever. I'll fly them all. Variety is the spice of life. And ripstop in the air makes Barton very happy.
  4. Yes indeed! My dear wife surprised me with one as an early birthday present in advance of our upcoming trip to Corolla. I'll message you about meeting up. That would be cool.
  5. ----Nose back is the longer of the 2 knots at the top bridle attachment point? ----Add the weights is undo the tail Velcro, pull off the tail protector metal thingamajig, slip the 2 weights on the spine, put the thingamajig back on, and reattach the Velcro? How often do you get to take a new one out of the bag? Just curious so I can continue to live my ideal kiting life vicariously through you.
  6. That puppy looks like a little black Ewok. Priceless!
  7. 1052, and, Rob, that quote on your signature is great
  8. If you look through the posts, I think you'll notice that the titles are pretty random... maybe RNG does have something to do with this... C'mon lucky 259... Daddy needs a new set of kites ! Anything is better than "Newbie". John told me the names are associated with number of posts. I can hardly wait for the 1st. The poor Cross Fire is getting no love!
  9. My promotion from forum newbie to forum member should be reason enough. Come on RNG help me celebrate
  10. Wayne, I think you are a little "Crazy". I hope you won't be "Cryin' " or "Jaded" when, after so much "Livin' on the Edge", those kites "Walk This Way" and give me "Sweet Emotion"
  11. Just so no one suffers, I will be sure to let you all know how nice they fly after they show up at my house.
  12. Not nearly as life threatening and certainly not as unexpected as a stroke, but I went through 3 surgeries on my left knee in 18 months and getting back to being able to fly was a definite motivator to recovery.
  13. This post will put us past the Vented B2's 173. I see nothing to stop 26 more posts before April Fools. Good Call, SparkieRob.
  14. I'm looking forward to dealing with the confusion of right left up down clockwise counterclockwise looking up at that sweet progressive vented purple and black stacked awesomeness
  15. Glad you had fun out there. Bought a few tickets for the raffle yesterday. Kinda worked out since I was thinking about 2 of those anyways.
  16. Hey, JB, did you bring back any more tasty giveaways from the kite party?
  17. Fate will land one of the two on my doorstep. No need for a second subscription.
  18. I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm leaning towards good thing. I know if I was holding on to them, I would have to struggle mightily to overcome the temptation to fly them. Watty, on the other hand, probably has enough laying around that 3 more really doesn't have the same pull for him. I wish I had that many.
  19. If it can't be me, I say Wayne or Nick. I still think it should be me, though.
  20. Glowing kites from the ridge just means 24 hour flying without the hassle of lights, and I actually work at one of the original Manhattan Project facilities in Oak Ridge.
  21. Looks like a Premier Widow to me http://www.awindofchange.com/product/premier-widow.html
  22. Y'uns (that's East Tennessee redneck for "y'all") ain't got a snowball's chance in hell of winnin' them there purty kites. Ain't no way those gonna be Yankee kites.
  23. I've flown a couple modern duallies and the difference is staggering. Would be nice to get one in the bag that was mine, not my wife's.
